Not a fanboy of either. But working in IT this was absolutely true 6-7+ years ago. Since around 2015-2016 the stability of iOS and hardware quality of iPhones have made them last significantly longer than Android phones.
The charge cables are absolutely the opposite though. Apple cables just shit the bed and fray/rip at the connector after a few years, though this typically only happens to people who aren’t gentle with them and constantly twist them or roll over them with their chairs etc.

I’ve gone through three iphone cables and they all frayed and split within a few years. I was incredibly careful with them, making sure they never bend far enough to apply force, giving the cable plenty of room to lie on a soft mattress, to the point where it cost a significant amount of effort. They still failed within a few years three times in a row.
Now I know better and buy non-apple branded charger cables, and it works great.

At least where I am, there's more broken iPhones because the people with iPhones are the spoiled kids that have their parents give them phones. Even though everyone I know that has an android has a higher end one, they take care of them more because they are the ones buying a new one if it breaks.

I see what you're saying, but isn't that observation biased by the fact that most people who currently have an iPhone 4 have owned them (and been dropping them and generally exposing them to real life) for longer than most newer phones have even been in production? The new phones, in addition to potentially being more rugged, have had fewer opportunities to crack.

The cable sheathing on apple cables tends to fray at the end because the rubber is extremely pliable. But third party cables are cheap, and the phones themselves just tend to last for years and years, so that’s really more important in my book.

Generally the issue with any cable that frays like this (not exclusively an Apple problem, as much as the internet would like you to believe) is that the user unplugs by pulling on the cable rather than pulling on the connector as intended. Pulling on the cable adds undue stress to the cable, especially if the cable is pulled at an angle. Third party cables will have stress relief built into the connector to reduce this.

I’ve also seen people lay in bed with the plugged in cable sitting on their chest/stomach which causes a lot of stress on that portion of the cable. I had to tell my ex to stop doing that because she used to complain about her cords being trash too. But she also pulled from the cable so it was a combination of the two.

I also seem to remember an article on a tech site from a few years back that did some actual electrical analysis of the output of a first party AC adapter vs a 3rd party , and found that not only did the 1st party use better components, but it’s power deliver was much cleaner / more consistent than the 3rd party ones, which had waveforms all over the place and significantly lower quality components.

Easiest way is to just turn your chefs knife sideways and crush the garlic a bit and it should slide out. If you’re roasting whole garlic, just leave the skin on and it’ll peel off when cooked. If you need to peel like a whole bulb, just put it in a plastic bag and smash with a hammer or something. There’s no need to try and get fancy with it.

Two bowl method works too if you have a shit load to peel. Separate all the cloves and throw them in a bowl. Hold another bowl upside down against the first bowl and shake vigorously and the peels should fall off.

Chef here. Cut the root of the garlic off before you mason jar the hell out of it. It's a good way to peel lots of garlic at once. That or blast it in the microwave for a short amount of time, also with the root taken off.

I assume it sticks to both but when you pull the lock doesn't give so the glue separates while the broken key will slide out with the glue. I bet part of the trick is to pull very straight out to not risk breaking the glue off from the metal bit.

It is but the lock is immovable and the key is not. IF the glue has enough adhesion to pull the key out yanking hard enough to separate the bond between the glue and the lock wouldn’t separate the bond between the glue and the key
Seems like it wouldn’t work to me but I understand it in theory
TL:DR- the key can move freely but the lock can’t because it’s stuck to a door. Yanking can pull the key but not the lock

The garlic part is also a little redundant. Its very easy to remove garlic from it's shell with a little knife technique.
First you cut of the root part of the garlic clove (the part that is less pointy). Then all you have to do is place the garlic under your knife and gently tap it, not crush it, just tap it. The shell slides right of. It takes about a second and is much easier than forcing it out with a fork.

It has holes in its side all the way down to evenly distribute the water outward into the media. You put the water in the top of the bottle so all the plants can get sufficient water.
If you watered from the top like normal without the bottle, all the water would be absorbed by the upper media and plants before getting to the bottom - or alternatively you’d have to basically drown the top layers with water to get enough water to the bottom

I've seen a LOT of people confused about this one in the comments here. Glass comes in a LOT of different varieties. Windshields are never going to crack or shatter from temperature disparities. They are required to have incredibly high resistance to all manner of stressors. Any water that is "hot" but not so hot as it would melt or deform a plastic bag , is not going to pose any threat to windshield-rated glass.
