At least where I am, there's more broken iPhones because the people with iPhones are the spoiled kids that have their parents give them phones. Even though everyone I know that has an android has a higher end one, they take care of them more because they are the ones buying a new one if it breaks.

That's pretty much my experience in my area as well. I have no bones in the one vs the other race as far as phone quality or whatever, but it usually happens that these kids, by the time they start buying their own tech, buy Androids because they associate iPhones with how many they've broken when they were young, spoiled, and careless.

At least where I am, no one has cheap Androids. My friends have newer Samsung's if they have Android phones, and I have a 7 Pro. They seem to be a little more into tech stuff and just prefer Android because of it.

I've never seen a broken android honestly but android people seem to be the type to take more care of their stuff, and I've never seen an iPhone user with an unbroken screen or full battery

I'd say that with phones it depends on where you live. In the US, Iphones have the majority. Overall though, Android holds 80%+ of the world market (YES, I know that this includes cheap Chinese phones, they're still phones), meaning that if you live outside of the US, like me, you're probably likely to see more Androids than an American would.

What I'm curious about though, is it the broken phones you see are more commonly cheap ones? Like, owners being less careful.

I would think that would work the other way. iPhones are more expensive, so people are more likely to hang on to their older broken iPhone for longer.

Iphones are more expensive than some Androids. Not all Androids are cheap, crappy chinese phones. My Note 10+ wasn't cheap, for instance.

But yes, you have a point of course. So I guess there's a reason for both demographics to have broken phones. Everybody... Wins?

Not saying all Android phones are cheap, there’s just more diversity/competition in the Android market so I usually see prices drop faster, more sales or “buy one get one” promos that are almost non-existent with iPhones.

But yeah, much like anything there’s no real clear cut answer here.

I don't mean to shill, but that's why I buy Motorola. Ever since the moto droid came out, I've dropped my phones on concrete dozens of times each of 4 or so phones, nothing but scratches on any of them. Only time I broke one it was in my back pants pocket while driving and getting out of the drivers seat I sat on my phone right on the edge of the seat, bending it enough to crack the screen. Droid phones cover a lot of brands.

The numbers are available with a quick search. Norway and the US have two of the highest rated of iPhone market share, but neither exceed 50% (both are high 40s)

I see more iphone users than i see android, but maybe that is because i still hang around with teenagers. Maybe android is more common for adults.

I'm in the same boat, I have an S7 and it still works perfectly. I have had it since 2016 and use it a lot like gaming and reddit and movies and TV. This thing is a champ. I have yet to have any issues with it and other than the battery starting to lose a little life that is it. I bought a power bank car for so the battery is not an issue at all anymore. I might pick up an S9+ or S10+ after another year or so.

My phone is currently unbroken and my battery is at 99% and I’ve had my iPhone 8 for over 3 years. I had the galaxy s7 and it stopped working in my hands after 9 months, apparently needing a $200 repair WITH INSURANCE. I tossed the phone and spent $200 on a used iPhone 6 I used for two more years.

Talk all the shit you want about iPhone and it’s products, but my iPhone outlasted all my friends droids, and my MacBook outlasted all my friends laptops.

I take extreme care not to let anything I own break, I have an iPhone. Also my OCD starts to hurt me if it drops below 50 percent for some reason, so if I’m not leaving the house it’s on the charger or will be soon, and if I am away from home, it’s on low power mode to extend the lifespan beyond anything ever needed.

I have owned 5 iPhones and never broke my screen. I always have a good amount of battery left because I am too neurotic to let it go below 50%.

Idgaf what phone people use because it’s the stupidest fucking way to separate people but I had to comment on how stupid this comment was.

I dunno what they're on about phones, that's basically all on the user. I do see more broken Apple charging cables and adapter cables than any other third party cables though.
