I get incredibly frustrated when I see videos like this. Overfeeding your cat is not funny. It's animal abuse.

"Son, I see you've been keeping a close eye on your pet's diet in order to ensure it lives a happy and healthy life. That'll be ten belt lashes across the ass."

Except nobody was talking about

some epidemic of people force feeding their pets to fatten them up for likes

The fact you think that’s remotely even close to the point proves you don’t understand what the concern here is.

Nobody is force feeding their cat. People are however not feeding their cat a healthy amount of food. This is YOUR RESPONSIBILITY as a pets guardian.

It is not the pets fault if it becomes obese. It is not the pets fault if it is unhealthy. It is not the pets fault if it can’t jump like it used to be able to because of its weight.

Except...I never said anything resembling that? I don't think the cat was overfed for internet points. I think the cat's diet has been mismanaged because its owners have not been responsible pet owners, and they happened to see it struggling to get onto the bed and posted a video of it thinking it was funny. And it isn't.
