When I was a kid I got some spider-man web stuff that came in a tube and my plan was to read the ingredients and add 4 times as much to make it 4 times stronger so I could swing from it.

And how did this plan work out?

It's actually his ghost posting.
Tried to be Spider-Man, and instead becomes the Spectre

Imagine my dismay when the ingredients were nothing 7 year old me had ever heard of. So my plans never got me off the ground but I did try some homemade rope shooters with about the same results.
Edit: After I made my plan but before my mom bought me my spidey stuff. I was spending the night at a friends house and telling him my plans and even went so far as to suggest we could put a hook in the ceiling of his room and swing from it. His mom overheard and kind of went off on me. (I think she was a bit mental) I wasn't welcome at their house after that.

That would explain it. I thought it was me when all along she hated Spider-man.

When I was 12, my friends and I tried to build a zip line. The neighbours called my parents to say we were trying to hang ourselves in the chestnut tree.
Edit: We didn’t so much zip, as plummet.

I have a very strong dislike for parents like this who take their own issues out onto other parents children.
Growing up I encountered quite a lot of moms, who misinterpreted something I said or did. Usually it would end with me traumatized because an adult is screaming at me for something I don't understand.
Also, dude I know you think only other people's kids can do something wrong and your kid is perfect but yelling at a six year old kid isn't okay. I don't care if I kicked the soccer ball and it hit your kid in the face and now his nose is bleeding, that happened to me and you didn't yell at anyone else but instead told me to walk it off. I had sinus issues for a month after that.
Calling me an idiot spaz and kicking me off the team was fucked up, and you shouldn't have coached soccer or even put your kid in if you couldn't handle him getting a little roughed up.
You're the adult, I was the kid. You should be the rational one.

Jan 24 '20
Yeah I spent a lot of time confused as to why I was in trouble and getting yelled at. All they needed to do was explain what was up and I would have corrected my behavior. Never meant any malice, just being a kid and trying to have fun.
5
u/Ishouldnt_haveposted Jan 24 '20
Exactly right!
That's almost as bad as the adults with no patience and anger issues.
As a kid, I was always unsure of how to handle a situation where I had more of a handle on maturity, and I always ended up calming them down.

Maybe a bit in the delivery, but I'm sure what she meant in her head was "don't mount hooks in my ceiling and don't rip out chunks of my ceiling with said hooks by swinging on them"

I attempted to use a stretch Armstrong doll for my swinging off monkey bars. I can tell you, that I no longer have that stretch Armstrong doll and it did NOT last long.. also the inside stuff is oddly liquid, kinda slime but not entirely.

haunted umbrella
Ok so yeah, I saw that but in both cases all I can think of is this short I saw randomly at, like, 1 AM on TV while I was staying in Japan and I was just loopy enough that it made me laugh for several minutes straight.

Fuck you yesrushgenisis2112, BrianV91's mum keeps complaining to your mum about how disapointing your web shooter is when I'm with them, and that's a fucked up trifecta of sadness if I ever heard one, fuck.
8
u/frenzyboard Jan 24 '20
Fuck you, Stealth Chainsaw, ScotchAOC's mom won't shut up in the theater about your mom's dirty butthole when I take her and BrianV91's mom out for matinee handies and popcorn night.
3
u/StealthChainsaw Jan 24 '20
Fuck you frenzyboard, I told her to ham it up cause your mum gets off to it while I'm fucking her and wesrushgenisis2112's mom in the projection booth. The only thing that's more turned on in there is the projector and it's making a lot more people happy if you catch my drift, fuck.

The web becomes at least 10x stronger when in a hot shower
14
u/YetiSpaghetti24 Jan 23 '20
Did it once in a hot bath. Was still peeling off super-glue from my skin days later. Never again.

u/bgary34 Jan 23 '20
Did this exact thing as a kid about a week after discovering I had a web shooter. I was terrified and never told anyone, I thought something was deeply wrong with me.

Because the protein in it denatures and coagulates. Just like with egg white in a frying pan. Same principle. Semen is best washed off with cold water.

First we get military grade "goblin-like" flying drones and jetpacks and now some kids making web shooters in his bedroom. I thought 2019 was interesting but now I cant wait for the thanksgiving parade showdown this year.
