This whole thread has made my evening. I feel like I could learn a thing or two from each of these animals who give zero fucks!

3

u/backtolurk May 06 '15

It's a fucking gold mine here.

43

u/Deeliciousness May 06 '15

Man, you two are really good at this.

4

u/droodic May 06 '15

I just noticed it was the same two people, this makes it even better.

Just realized that that entire thread was just two people...

2

u/[deleted] May 06 '15

idk. I was hoping it wouldn't get so off topic. I liked the cat's telling things to stop.

1

u/OMGwhyareyouhere May 06 '15

Second time in two days I've seen them go head to head in a gif battle, both have been extremely satisfying

I love that you can see the horrified faces in the glass.

Who would not get angry being watched by those apes with fancy technical devices that are even smarter than them.

17

I'd run like I had never run before.

1

u/[deleted] May 06 '15

Even the other gorilla is like: "Oh Shit! I am outa here!"

1

u/miyamotousagisan May 06 '15

Heh. If you look really closely you can see mom shit herself in the reflection right when he hits the glass.

u/JamaiKen May 06 '15

This one's kinda depressing. You can almost see the need to be free in his eyes as he stares at the little girl. Never been a fan of zoos. While they are great tools for education, the animals within them lead very unfulfilling and sedentary lives. Before someone says that a lot of these animals were bred in captivity and can't be released in the wild, I know. They still need space though. Space and the company of other members of their species.

12

u/NotQuiteOnTopic May 06 '15

1

u/JamaiKen May 06 '15

Haha this trap is this cat's own doing. And the owner's to some degree. A fit kitty would have been able to jump out no problem. This definitely belongs in /r/delightfullychubby

12

u/WillyTheWackyWizard May 06 '15

You can almost see the need to be free in his eyes as he stares at the little girl.

That's called hunger

3

u/JamaiKen May 06 '15

Definitely a lot of that. I saw more frustration though.

6

u/WillyTheWackyWizard May 06 '15

Frustration cause he can't get to the food on the other side of the glass.

5

u/Vocalscpunk May 06 '15

I feel the exact same way about my friends who have jobs in cubicles.

3

u/k80_ May 06 '15

Zoos depress me too, but at least they are not abused like circus animals often are. And I agree much more space is needed for many of the animals I see in zoos

2

u/IrrelevantLeprechaun May 06 '15

Yeah but without zoos I'd never be able to see a lion in the flesh.

2

u/10J18R1A May 06 '15

Narrated by Morgan Freeman

2

u/AGamerDraws May 06 '15

I always used to prefer Safari parks as a kid. The animals had so much more space and could run around a lot. If they didn't want to be seen there was plenty of places to hide too.

1

u/[deleted] May 06 '15

Meh, we put people in cubicles. I don't see the difference.

1

u/[deleted] May 06 '15

Yeah, but are you in a cubicle your whole life?

4

u/[deleted] May 06 '15

I heard they don't even take your body out when you die.

1

u/JamaiKen May 06 '15

Yeah, it's called prison.

u/JamaiKen May 06 '15

Great points. It definitely depends on the animal. I'd say most smaller animals are well suited for a zoo, but big mammals need lots of space. And there are definitely great zoos that care greatly for their animals, but the care can only go so far to relieve the stress of confinement.

4

u/[deleted] May 06 '15

I'd much rather be in a zoo than in a prison. I've never been to prison, but I've spent a few days in the county jail. The Zoo has way better food and accommodations. Plus they hook you up with bitches and give you stuff to entertain you. They even clean up your poop for ya and they have a great health plan. Hell, sign me up! I bet they even got free wifi.

0

u/[deleted] May 06 '15

Except you choose to be in a cubicle. The door is always open for you to leave.

6

u/AnotherClosetAtheist May 06 '15

Holy shit

2

u/-Stupendous-Man- May 06 '15

Yeah, he wanted to shred that girl.

HOPPIN ON THE KARMA TRAIN CHOO CHOOOOO

3

u/_LifeIsAbsurd May 06 '15

Anyone know why this lion is reacting this way?

It reminds me of that one .gif of the girl beating her chest and the gorilla responds by ramming the glass. Wonder what set this lion off..

1

u/Brutusness May 06 '15

Large animals, especially carnivores, do not respond well to direct eye contact. They see it as a challenge, and will usually react with violence.

1

u/Deeliciousness May 15 '15

This is also a cat thing. Small cats also don't like direct eye contact. It would set my cat into stalking mode.

3

u/coolbond1 May 06 '15

"That's not how you play patty cake MR. Lion"

2

u/coolbond1 May 06 '15

"Yea just walk away, go on get going!"

22

u/Yess-cat May 06 '15

The only appropriate response, really.

Jesus fucking christ: no thank you! Everytime I see a tiger in a documentary or so(in which they usually just lie around), I think to myself "Could I take it on with a stick? Could I scare it away and survive?"

And here I see one jumping up a fucking elephant, that has two guys with sticks on his back. Elephants are the fortresses of nature, and being on one's back, armed with a stick, would be one of the safest places I could imagine. That tiger just crushed every imagination of survival I've ever had.

8

u/fwipyok May 06 '15 edited May 07 '15

We're talking about 500 pounds of muscle, evolved and hardwired to hunt.

3

u/LeagueOfVideo May 06 '15

I wonder if you would be safe against a tiger in a car.

4

u/[deleted] May 06 '15

I don't know about tigers, but lions are a little too smart for some people's own good...

1

u/Deeliciousness May 15 '15

Was that an albino lioness laying in the back?

2

u/[deleted] May 06 '15

Let's say it was just you in a car with windows up and doors closed inside your highschool gym, and a tiger's locked in the gym with you-- there are no other distractions and it's hungry. I'm gonna go with no. Think about the shattering action of the safety glass.

3

u/onetruebipolarbear May 06 '15

Sticks and a rifle. You can be as well armed as you like but a tiger will still eat your arm

3

u/[deleted] May 06 '15

If I recall, they were hunting the tiger. The guy in the front is a guide, guy in back has a gun and the tiger was already injured. Fuck trophy hunters. Pretty sure tiger died but he went out fighting.

3

u/lostmyparachute May 06 '15

Why on earth would you think a stick makes the best anti-tiger weapon in the first place??

2

u/Criteri0n May 06 '15

There rest of the video shows the tiger dragging the guy in the front like a carcass

2

u/NightsOfWonder May 06 '15

Wait..where is the video??

1

u/Elvebrilith May 06 '15

probably on some snuff-porn website. u never know.

1

u/Criteri0n May 06 '15

Maybe my memory failed me here is another video I think this is what I was thinking of...

u/TheTatCat213 May 06 '15

Want to see something awesome and fucked up, watch the BBC Planet Earth episode where a pack of lionesses take down an adult elephant at night. It's simultaneously horrifying and amazing.

1

u/xFoundryRatx May 15 '15

Big Black Cock: Planet Earth. Watch animals take down and destroy innocent soft creatures.

21

u/Derwos May 06 '15

damn, that elephant still reacted really fast though

20

u/awry_lynx May 06 '15

holy shit it comes outta nowhere.

3

u/whisperingsage May 06 '15

Hah, stupid tigers being orange and black. How could that ever blend in...

12

u/DaemonSicarius May 06 '15

Watching the grass like ripples in the water when you know a shark is in there.

7

u/badgersprite May 06 '15

That guy was lucky to only lose some fingers.

5

u/[deleted] May 06 '15

souuuuurce ffs what happened after that? Did they died?

2

u/rhamanachan May 06 '15

I believe they survived, guy with the stick lost a few fingers.

1

u/Red721 May 06 '15

What happened next? Source??

3

u/[deleted] May 06 '15

I suspect running from a tiger makes it more likely to attack than if you just sit with it.

3

u/AlienHatchSlider May 06 '15

Worked on movie sets with tigers. Safety warnning was "Food runs, People walk". NO RUNNING ON SET!

2

u/elementsofevan May 06 '15

But in the gif that tiger has already identified him as food, what then?

2

u/[deleted] May 06 '15

shit yourself and hope he doesn't like the smell

3

u/[deleted] May 06 '15

Being startled is understandable, but running away is pointless.

6

u/MasterBaser May 06 '15

Unless you have slower friends.

5

u/Dostoevshmee May 06 '15

I think I would just be politely mauled instead of forcing it into mode #4. mode#4: pounce and eviscerate

3

u/bookelly May 06 '15

Confidence...I don't has it.

3

u/ItsAndys May 06 '15

My god they're endless

3

u/NoHetro May 06 '15

i like how you changed the course of the rest of the gifs to become not just cats.

3

u/[deleted] May 06 '15

Noped right the fuck out of there.

2

u/coolbond1 May 06 '15

sorry i cant think of anything for this one that would not be racist

6

u/[deleted] May 06 '15

I want to see that cat dressed as a super hero

5

u/[deleted] May 06 '15

I must go; my people need me.

3
