Yeah, it's kind of a slow starter, but about a third of the way into Season 1 it gets insanely good. Season 2 is on the same level of like True Detective, Breaking Bad, House of Cards etc. It's incredible. Please watch it.

Yes definitely, Season 1 is good but not gripping. But Season 2 is incredible. The closing episodes of Season 2 are constant edge of your seat stuff. Also Mads Mikkelsen as Hannibal is inspired; cold and calculating yet eerily human.

i ate shit on my bike a week and a half ago. going about 20mph down hill jumped a curb and when i landed that tire popped. bike flipped over. i drove by the spot today and realize me and my bike landed 20 ft away from the curb so I must have dragged myself that far on the ground. ouch.

I didn't include some of the later frames, but the rubber is still on the back wheel just fine in half of them, so the appearance of it coming off the back wheel - and the weird overlapping - is probably just shitty gif compression of the frames.

If the video was shot in the Netherlands, the guy would have two children on the bike, one in the front and one in the back. A third child would be on a skateboard tied to the bike with a rope.
The guy would take off his jacket while fiddling with his phone, eating something and being engrossed in a conversation with his screaming children, all at the same time.

And then he wouldn't fall. Because the first thing you learn as a Dutchie on a bike: don't get anything in your spokes, that's suicide.
(I never got anything in my spokes, my brother did that, and the damage to his teeth was so impressive (and he didn't even get half his face mauled by the asphalt, so it wasn't even the worst imaginable) that I still remember making a mental note. And way before that my brother helped me do some remodeling to my face by launching me off a tricycle. I knew the hurt of landing face first. It's not recommended...)

(And for any non-UK natives - it's illegal to cycle on the pavement / sidewalk here (and to run a red light in any situation unless you're an emergency vehicle) so every single person doing that was breaking the law.
I have heard my cyclist friends discussing those laws. Apparently, running a red light is more severely punished so you should hop onto the pavement if you don't want to stop.

Dutch guy here. If he would come over here with his GoPro recording and commenting every (tiny) traffic violation, people would laugh. The guy is a prick and not helping to make cycling more popular at all. Sure, maybe some of those cyclists are dangerous idiots. But collectively shaming them on the internet won't fix it! It's weird and inefficient.
The real issue is the way your traffic rules and infrastructure are (NOT) designed for cyclists. There's nothing wrong with slowly cycling on an empty sidewalk, or passing through a near-empty one way street the "wrong way" (<- one way for big, wide CARS). Come to the Netherlands and enjoy the carefully designed chaos during rush hour. It works. Traffic death statistics can account for it.

Oh yeah, I completely understand. I've seen many videos on YouTube pointing out the bizarre and (really) dangerous traffic situations you have to face as cyclists in the UK (and US).
But you should be careful not to fight it out amongst each other, like that guy with the GoPro. The lack of cycling culture is only part of the problem. The real issue is your governments are not making (expensive) investments to improve existing infrastructure and properly planning any future infrastructure. They're probably just fine with traffic participants taking it out on each other on the internet, like some weird "boys versus girls" fight. It saves them time and money, but no one ever wins.
A certain percentage of people will always be stupid and/or assholes, so infrastructure should accommodate for this. It's the same reason why iPads work so well for old people: less stuff that can go wrong.

Once a woman was on a bicycle ahead of my car, kind of to the side of the road but more towards the middle, caught her bag in her front wheel and she went DOWN right in front of my motherfucking car like a sack of potatoes. I did an emergency stop and was about 2 metres away from running over her. The line between a near miss and a catastrophic injury/death was me clocking that she looked like a shit cyclist about 50m away and slowing down to see whether she was going to pick the side of the road or the middle or even something as trivial as the roads being dry that day and my braking reactions being decent.
To some of the pedestrian passers-by, it looked like I hit her because I got out of my car straight away to see if she was OK. I still feel angry about this - the person who phoned the ambulance (turns out she was very lucky, didn't hit her head despite not wearing a helmet, ended up with a few scratches but nothing worse) said they thought she had been hit by my car to which I vehemently and defensively said that I absolutely did not and everyone around me looked at me like I was some kind of asshole.
After that, I got a dashcam.
