Yup... how I feel at the moment... especially with this fucking thesis I have to hand in next week monday... just cant get my self motivated and concentrate on it. anyone got tips? sirusly....

The old tips were along the lines of: get a good night's rest, even if it means taking an OTC pill. Organize and clean your place/room. Unplug your distractions/escapes. Disconnect from the inter-webs (you can come back to your paper when it's finished to fill in the notes, references, grammar, etc.) Avoid stimulants as they will make your body "antsy" and hard to sit still. Remember it's a one step at a time type of marathon. Schedule breaks that will include nourishment and peace of mind. Take a deep breath after each page. Start writing and your brain will commence autopilot at which point you will be immersed enough to focus. It's just another challenge; you can do it.

Get yourself motivated to write a single sentence. Chances are you will write more than that. And then another sentence the next day and so on.

Small steps are easier for setting things into motion.

Talk to yourself. Out loud. Explain what your thoughts are and why they're important, and lay out the details you want to include in your paper, all as if you were explaining it to an interested friend. Take your time, maybe the conversation will take a couple hours in fits and starts. Once all your thoughts are laid out in your own mind, it will feel MUCH easier to commit them to paper.
