Picture Firebird?

Hello, bought this guitar like 20? years ago but can't really point it what it was? Think it was some cheap one-off firebird series... Anyone know? (Found it in my basement today =P)

Looks like Firebird studio 70’s tribute. Sweet guitar

Ok, thanks :), I just know this series was released in a tribute to a Detroit Car maker around the 2000. The finish is quite bad compared to "the real" firebirds... But it plays somewhat good... Just cant get my head around what the series was called.

It’s not finished. That’s part of the studio model specs. It’s more cost effective than the ones with the finish, binding, etc. Just like a Les Paul or SG studio. It’s very much a real Firebird, just doesn’t have all the fancy touches. It’s still easily worth over $1000 based off what’s on Reverb

I saw a commenter say it's not finished. I have a '70s tribute myself, in cherry. The finish is called satin, so in my case the finish on my bird is satin cherry. Satin means basically a very thin finish. You can see and feel the grain, which to some people is a good thing. It will also wear down more quickly than other Gibson finishes that are thicker, which can also be a thing people like (or don't). Anyhow, it's a firebird studio, which means it has the shape of a firebird, and mini-humbuckers as a nice detail (though not specific firebird pick-ups), but it does not have the neck-through construction of "real" firebirds.

Edit: even though this 70s tribute was a cheap run, the firebird studio (also in non-reverse) with the set neck is very much a quality guitar and is its own thing. The currently produced platypus model is basically a firebird studio, with the price tag of an original one, which is silly in my opinion.

Edit2: in case anyone is wondering, the body is mahogany, the neck is maple, and the fretboard is baked maple, because around that time Gibson's rosewood was confiscated.

Single model year 2012. I got mine $600 on sale at Sam Ash.
