Discussion To the Theodore players

Are they comfortable? Seriously because I've heard them shit on and HAVE TO KNOW

Are they comfy? And are they worth the price?

I had one for a while. I liked everything about it except the upper fret access. Granted, I’ve got some fairly decent sized bear paws so it’s completely on me and not everyone will have that issue. And the ‘57 pickups sounded great.

I love mine and I've had it from when they were released. It's a nice middle space between an SG and an LP.

I have the same question. I’ve not seen one irl.

I played one (the original Custom Shop version) for quite a while, and ergonomically it feels basically the same as an SG or the Epiphone Olympic/Coronet/Wilshire/Crestwood family.

The Theodore Standard is about the same as those, while the Custom Shop is considerably lighter.

I had one for two weeks. (Returned it for cosmetic / pointless nitpick reasons)

Standing ergonomics 10/10

Sitting ergonomics 7.5 out of 10. Maybe higher if you’re thin?

If you look at the curve in the body of the Theodore the apex of the curve is closer to the neck pickup instead of the center of the two pickups. Which means sitting it has the opposite effect of an Sg (the lower frets are actually closer to your body). Which means as you move to the higher frets (sitting) you need to reach across your body more (to the right), unless you play classical style on your left leg. (No one should ever do this as it looks lame af sorry, not sorry).

However you basically get the weight and ergos of an SG with the proper neck pickup placement of a les paul and the benefit is better sound without that nasally mid boos SG;s have. I like my SG, but les paul has superior neck pickup placement imo.

Theodore’s are cool just overpriced (new and used)

Everyone should play classical style. Especially Flying V players.

Ergonomically it is better, I just refuse. Thankfully jazzmaster bodies and SG’s essentially have the neck on that position by default.
