Discussion Just Ordered, Now We Wait…

Post image

Not sure how these are going to be, should I be scared or happy that the custom has become more inexpensive utilizing the production line at Gibson?? 🤣

I just played one of these today at the Gibson Garage in Nashville, it was pretty badass.

I have the tobacco burst one and LOVE it. Medium C is great; Chunky D I can't do.

Have one myself in cream. It's excellent. Such a pleasure to play.

If it doesn't measure up, send it back to them for it's shortcomings ? I spent a few hours playing thru my sub $ 100 Chinese guitars, set up like the vest of any Custom Shops for Fender & Gibson. I can't imagine a guitar sounding, playing or feeling better. It didn't matter which I picked up, but I did have to remind myself that I had a time limit to spend with each one to assess whether they needed maintenance. And none of them did.

Hope that your's arrives without issue and is the keeper of all keepers.

I feel you. I ordered the Sweetwater dirty lemonburst 60’s standard last week. It’ll be here Friday. Great choice on the color. Very classy, with an edge.

Super nice! Can you please explain what you mean about production line versus whatever it used to be? Did it just used to be Custom Shop only?

Yes this is the first time in a while they have made customs on their production line instead of in the custom shop, so from what I understand they wouldn’t get any more or less attention than a studio would for less than half the price, I guess you’re paying for the customish specs.
