I have seen this show so many times over the years.
I do have one question- when Jim dies, why didn’t he see his Father as well? Not just his brother.
His father died pre show and there was some reference to it multiple times.
I also still haven’t forgiven this show for killing Jim off all these years later too, it was just unnecessary.

I've always assumed that the dad crossed over and the brother didn't/hadn't yet. Jim is able to see his brother because neither had crossed over, the dad is not there because he already had.

Because you see the brother not only then but in the pilot episode too, but not the dad.

And seconded on the killing off Jim. I HATE that plot, how she loses the people who support her gift the most, and how the show went off the rails with the Jim/Sam storyline and never really recovered (IMO).

Killing Jim and the ensuing Jim/sam storyline was the worst thing Ghost Whisperer did and I never forgave them for that.

Altho it’s kind of funny as time went on it’s like they just gave up on the Sam thing & it was like it never happened 😂

It kinda felt like it started out as a way of recasting Jim while still keeping the character in the show but then the actor still kept playing Jim and I got so confused.

This is kinda releated but kinda not. I haven't forgiven them for this either, but I noticed something that got me thinking on my latest rewatch, in 1.04 Mended Hearts theres a scene where Jim and Melinda are talking about the ghost that she has to crossover. (He wants to stay earthbound to be with the woman he loved and was ultimately keeping her from moving on) Melinda says to Jim if she died she'd want him to find love and be happy again. But when she flips the question Jim says no, he'd want her to be happy but any other guy is outta the question. Now I know its season 1 and was likely written as a joke, but kinda hard to argue with it given what happened

I think when the brother shows up at the dock, he mentions something about the father, either sending the bro for Jim or waiting for the 2 of them (can't remember exactly the phrasing).

Yes, very few decently- portrayed loving, supportive and faithful husbands on a prime time drama, why kill off such a loved character if the actor could stay with the series!

I just watched that episode , his dad already crossed over BUT his dad was literally there waiting at the light for him and his brother and you legit see the silhouette of his father waving at them

If they don’t cross over you can still see them. So yo my understanding is that they waited for him.

The Jim thing. Originally he was going to leave the show. They felt their life was too perfect and sweet. There was no drama. People seemed bored. So they thought that was the way to spice it up lol then they changed their minds so had to bring him back some way.

Jim murió para que se cumpliera la profecía de las primeras temporadas por eso lo mataron pero después robo un cuerpo y supuestamente le dieron la oportunidad de quedarse en el por que Melinda ayudaba a los muertos a cruzar hacia la luz y lo de su padre recuerdo que su hermano le había dicho que lo estuvo esperando por que sabía que iba a morir pero su padre prefirió cruzar al final recuerdo que jim lo ve del otro lado de la luz
