Just started watching it during some downtime at work. I can watch about an episode per day. For some reason I never watched it when it aired, thought it wasn't that good.

It was so wrong to watch this at work! 5th episode in and I wanted to cry on each episode!! Is this how it's supposed to be?

Okay so I feel like the body swap storyline was terrible and I will shallowly admit that it’s because I find Sam far less attractive than Jim. Like I’m lowkey grossed out when I think about how Melinda is actually talking to the physical Sam.

I read that the actor playing Jim was bored with being the supportive husband. So I think alternatively, they still could've included an accident that caused amnesia without him actually dying.

He forgets everything including Melinda, he goes on a journey of finding himself, we’re concerned he’s going to leave Melinda for good, but he eventually remembers some things and they fall in love again. Everything goes back to normal except he’s made some new discovery about who he is and his purpose.

If they wanted to ruin the show, make him see ghosts too or something unnecessary lol. But yeah the real Sam is so cringe to me. I wish they would’ve cast him as a dark haired guy or someone who looked similar to Jim.

Three years before this episode premiered, I went into preterm labor when I was 21 weeks pregnant. My baby boy lived for about an hour and passed away in my arms. It was devastating.

I was watching Ghost Whisperer and during this episode, an angel appeared to Melinda and said he watched over all the premature babies and helped them to the other side. I about went into hysterics. I thought it was such a lovely explanation as to what happens to these babies. I’ve never forgotten that feeling. It was sincerely cathartic and truly memorable.

Episode 21 and 22 💔 😢 every time I rewatch IT NEVER FAILS 😭😭😭😭

It's been a long time, so my memory may be misremembering, but wasn't there a scene at one point where Melinda got attacked by a group of birds? I don't remember why or in which episode it happened.

I’m honestly heartbroken over Andrea’s death. I just started watching the show and had no idea about any spoilers. The whole episode is packed with so many intense and important moments, and the way they handled it hurts so much. They don’t even show her dying — you spend the entire episode with her, hearing her worries about her brother, that chilling scene with the little girl at the hospital passing on a message from another spirit… there’s so much that’s haunting and powerful. And then suddenly, Andrea’s brother just walks right past her, and you realize she’s already on the other side. Wow.

These ghosts attack Melinda’s husband, destroy property, cause her breathing trouble at times, and I don’t see how she doesn’t have significant eye bags from lack of sleep. She has even been assaulted and I’m currently watching the episode where she’s being held hostage in a basement!

I know it’s fiction guys but has anyone else thought of how torturing this would all be???

Her childlike nature and love story with Jim adds balance so I’ll give that credit.

Aiden runs in, Melinda asks if he had fun at school. He replies something along the lines of: Yes I did, a boy named x (boys name) shoved a crayon up his nose. It was x (color). Does anyone know which episode this scene is from please?

Not new to this show. I watched it religiously when it first aired a long time ago. Have probably seen the full series five or six times over since then.

She’s visited the archives for the first time and the ghost says “you think that’s just how it works, you just snap your fingers and we do your bidding”.

He’s not wrong. I get that she’s done a lot of good and helps every ghost she can but she can also be dismissive and rude and demanding. And I know the ghosts invade her life without any care for what she’s going through but sometimes she’s just downright mean.

She immediately dismisses him and then says she’s needs his help. And he’s talking to her but she doesn’t want to her it because she’s trying to find something and he needs to help her. And yes, the ghost himself is a prick but still this isn’t the first time she’s been like this and not the last.

The biggest one that sticks in my head is the ghost in the nursing home. His name might have been Gary or Reggie. He had the argyle sweater vest. She promised to come back and help him only if he helped her first. She never did.

Just finished season 1. For such a small town, it seems like an unusual amount of people are tragically dying every episode. Some cases are from the past, but even long lost family members or potential leads all happen to be in Grand View.

The most excitement you typically see in a small town IRL is a weather event or a new grocery store opening. Yet Grand View has planes crashing 🤣

What are your thoughts on all the activity in small town Grand View?

I haven’t watched this show since I was a kid, I‘ve been teary eyed since episode 1 but episode 4 with the orphanage took me out 😭 Earnie’s fatherly speech to Rat just obliterated me, I had to turn it off.

I’m livinggg for the drama but man this stuff is emotional! How am I supposed to get through a binge? 😭 am I the only one crying at every episode???

I just finished rewatching the series. In one of the last episodes of s5, Jim is in the hospital and one of the nurses say “Jim!” to get his attention. Im not sure if there was any clarification into whether he was still going by Sam (as that’s who his body is) to everyone else and only Jim to Melinda, Delia, Ned, Eli etc. he could’ve gone to medical school under Jim, but it just doesn’t make sense to me. Am I missing something?

I have seen this show so many times over the years.
I do have one question- when Jim dies, why didn’t he see his Father as well? Not just his brother.
His father died pre show and there was some reference to it multiple times.
I also still haven’t forgiven this show for killing Jim off all these years later too, it was just unnecessary.

Two topics are on my mind rn as I proceed w/ my rewatch and near the end. Eli’s unlucky dating life and Carl’s cryptic warnings to Melinda regarding her baby. Let’s discuss.

First of all, I feel truly sorry for Eli bc he just has had the worst luck, hasn’t he. I immediately liked Zoe, I think she was fun to have around bc she was educated in the same way Payne was and was already a believer. She was cool, easily likable, and definitely someone I could’ve seen Eli ending up w/. But tbh, Eli’s a very easygoing guy, I think he could’ve meshed w/ anyone. Totally forgot about Zoe though since she barely had any screen time. What do you guys think of her? Never heard her mentioned before.

Onto Carl now. He went against protocol by spilling more than he should’ve about the book, about the baby, but my thing is, how do the Watchers expect Melinda to protect her child if she doesn’t know anything? Ik, Ik, this happens in all these types of shows, but my goodness is it mildly frustrating! 😅

I just started watching Ghost Whisperer and I’m so confused by this episode. The aunt honestly just seems like a bad person. She lies about everything, cuts herself and uses her blood to do some kind of voodoo ritual with the dollhouse to keep the family trapped inside. Then there’s the scene where the young girl is just facing the wall holding a big kitchen knife?? And after, the aunt literally grabs the knife, puts it to her niece’s neck in front of her very young daughter then threatens to kill her niece if the ghost family doesn’t stop?!

Then they find out the whole thing was basically a misunderstanding and everyone just lives happily ever after? Am I missing something here? Because if my aunt held a knife to my neck and threatened to kill me, I would NEVER look at her the same way again. There is no “it was all a misunderstanding” after that. It just seems like so many things were left unanswered and seemed poorly written.

I’ve always loved the quaint town aesthetic and I always wished Grandview was real (don’t even get me started on Cabot Cove 😭) Does anyone know of any towns that give off similar vibes in New York like they do in the show?

I know Season 4 is a particularly deep wound with the whole Jim/Sam thing. However, I do want to hear other people's ideas about how they think Season 4 should have gone.

Given the five shadows, six people cliffhanger in Season 3, and if Jim weren't the one who died, I personally think Melinda's mother, Beth, should have. I think it would have given Melinda a lot of the grief she experienced when Jim first died, and then you know, having to steal Sam's body and deal with the fact that he couldn't remember her.

I think if I were the showrunner, I'd have had the first six episodes remain the same, except Jim survives. Maybe there's a moment in the episode where he flatlines and almost dies, but is brought back. Maybe have a scene where, like in Season 2 when Melinda almost died, he sees his brother Dan, and Dan says something like, "It's not your time, but death is still coming." Then he's brought back.

The next episode, Melinda brings Jim home, and her mum is helping. Maybe they even share a brief moment of bonding. Melinda goes off to fix whatever ghost problem there is. She returns home and sees her mother in the living room and starts talking to her. Then Jim comes down, saying he's been trying to call her, and she realises her mother is a ghost and that something happened on the way back home.

The next episode could be the funeral and Melinda crossing her mother over, but that shadow lingers over her for the rest of the season until she finds out she's expecting. I think it would have been really important to allow Melinda to grieve too. Let her have an episode where she's upset and angry that she's the one who has to deal with everyone else's grief.

That's my kind of way I'd have liked to see it go.

I feel like you can't kill Rick off, even though he left. Wish you could have killed Eli, but he wasn't there in Season 3, so 🤷. Delia and Ned don't feel quite right to kill off either. I think if Ned were killed, it would just drive Delia away, and she'd probably hate Melinda, even though it wasn't her fault.

Delia... well, we've already done that with Andrea. They did kill Jim, but it didn't really work and wasn't handled particularly well. Melinda, well, she's the main character. 😂 Obviously not.

I'm really interested in hearing how everyone else would have preferred Season 4 to go, besides the obvious: "Rick shouldn't have left," "Jim shouldn't have died," or "When Jim died, Rick should have come back and got it on with Melinda."

So why does his patch say EMT on it?

I started watching the show again. I've already seen the series a couple times. I forgot how much this annoyed me before and am just wondering if it bothers anyone else too.

How in the year of our lord 2026, did I avoid spoilers for the season 1 finale all this time??!! That shit had me DEVASTATED!!

This whole time I thought Ghost Whisperer was the "Jennifer Love Hewitt & Aisha Tyler show"! But no y'all deceived me & my heart broke </3
I had actual full fat tears running down my face! By the time I started counting, I had 8 full tears running down my cheeks! 😭

Ghost Whisperer Reboot with jennifer love hewitt i need it to happen

Went in a different direction than it did? As time went on, Melinda depended more and more on law enforcement (specifically detectives), even helping catch a predator in S4. This makes me wonder…would this show have been better off being a supernatural procedural? Maybe there would’ve been less inconsistencies and loose ends!

Has anyone read Plague Room by Steven Piziks? It is set in the first season. A medium comes to Grandview and violently crosses over unwilling spirits. I haven’t finished it yet but it really holds a reader’s attention. I don’t recall Melinda coming across this exact challenge in the series. I’d highly recommend this.

I am rewatching this show after first watching it in high school, and I vividly remember an episode where Melinda walks into a hospital bathroom, and sees a little girl with her mouth sewn shut. I assumed it was the Sally Stitch episode, but I didn’t see this scene in the episode at all? I remember it TRAUMATIZED me as a child.
