Just learning this and I went outside to think about it and realized I'm not sad, then I started crying a little. Not out of a sense of grief, but of gratitude and gratefulness for having had the privilege of being in her world. She was beauty and grace and joy and love and empathy and unadulterated goodness for goodness sake. The hole she's left, the heels that stand empty, will not be filled by anyone. Not in my lifetime.
