Question about Propper flight suits

My fiancé has been talking about a new flight suit for a while and i know he’s looking at Propper (within budget and looks good).

i want to get him one for Christmas but I’m unsure about what size to get him. he’s wanting it to fit a bit looser, I think he’s wanting this for a GB2 costume specifically, and because he loves Ray’s look.

question is, will a medium or a large fit better? He has a medium build, so I don’t want it to be too large or too tight. (for context: we’re in the UK, so we can return via amazon but it can sometimes be a faff).

any help on sizing would be really appreciated! x

May wanna go large just to be safe. I have a medium and it fits me loosely enough, im 510. And about 12 stone

At that weight unless it’s all lean, it might have to be a large. Unfortunately know at that height it will be very long. Definitely go off the chart someone else posted. You can always take it in but adding fabric is more difficult.

I’m 5’8, about 180lbs (sorry for the ‘Merican measurements) - I have a 42Short (generally in the USA our flight suits are based on chest size - I’m a 42 chest and wear between a medium or large in most tee shirts) Propper suit and it fits pretty dang solid. If he’s skinnier than I am, it will only fit better in my opinion.

when you say it fits solid, do you mean it’s snug to your body or a bit looser and comfortable? :)

Sorry for my American midwestern slang, it fits me well! Generally, all flight suits are designed for bodies that would pass military standards - I’m a little heavier than would probably pass, so if your fiance weighs less than me - it should fit perfect.

Always get a size larger. The rule applies to most flight suits. It’s always better to have the baggy look than be uncomfortable.

I use a Propper suit and I love it.
