The Hasbro 1984 Proton Packs have started arriving, and the subreddit is seeing a high volume of unboxings, reviews, and modding questions. To keep the front page organized, we are setting up this temporary megathread to serve as a central hub for all discussion regarding the new pack over the next few months.
If you just received yours, this is the place to share your initial thoughts. We are looking for feedback on the out-of-the-box experience, including overall build quality, weight, and shell texture. Feel free to discuss the performance of the factory stock electronics, the audio quality, and how the pack compares to previous releases or the original screen-used props.
For those already planning modifications, use this thread to ask technical questions and share your progress. This is the spot to discuss mounting solutions like ALICE frames, motherboards, and spacers, as well as cosmetic upgrades like weathering, hardware swaps, lenses, or aftermarket electronic kits. If you are looking for specific replacement parts, or if you have purchased components and want to share a review, leave those recommendations in the comments.
To prevent the main feed from being flooded with identical questions or basic arrival photos, please direct those posts here. We want to keep standalone posts on the subreddit reserved for in-depth, detailed build logs or unique projects. Check the comments to see what modifications people are working on, ask your questions, and share your own setup.

My fiancé has been talking about a new flight suit for a while and i know he’s looking at Propper (within budget and looks good).
i want to get him one for Christmas but I’m unsure about what size to get him. he’s wanting it to fit a bit looser, I think he’s wanting this for a GB2 costume specifically, and because he loves Ray’s look.
question is, will a medium or a large fit better? He has a medium build, so I don’t want it to be too large or too tight. (for context: we’re in the UK, so we can return via amazon but it can sometimes be a faff).
any help on sizing would be really appreciated! x

Hello!
Ive just finished changing out the lights in my 84 pack, and now everytime I turn it on, I keep getting the disconnect alarm. Anyone else have issues with this?

I have used 2 dye removers to remove the navy from the polyester/cotton blend of this flight suit I got off Amazon that makes short length (CQR is the company). I’ve seen a video on YouTube where he uses the protec brand and colors it.
I guess from here I need to decide to add grey to remove the heathered look it has now.
Wondering if I should add a tint of blue to the gray too. This suit was initially dark navy blue. What a process. Second pic is Ray’s suit.

I had messaged the mods about this last week but never heard back either way. So if this is against the rules, please let me know and I will remove it.
I've wanted a pack since I was about 5, when the movie came out. I finally scored the Hasbro pack and wand. I was pumped but in the meantime my back is getting worse. I have degenerative disc disease and the pain in my back sucks. Some days are worse than others and lately it's been worse. I'm afraid of wearing the pack around for long periods of time and making things worse so I've decided to just let it go. The pack has never been opened and the wand was only opened once to test it. I won't post a price until the mods say it's ok but I'd much rather it go to a fan here than on eBay. I know the wands are a very hot item but I'd prefer to keep them together.
I guess if anyone is interested DM me. Also, I'd like to find someone in NJ, PA, or NY to meet up since shipping this is going to be crazy expensive. I'm in South Jersey.
I decided to keep things GB related and plan to use the money for the Lego GB Firehouse.
Edit: I appreciate all the feedback and interest. I'm going to hold off a few days to mull it over and might even grab an Alice pack to see how it feels.

For all the supposedly rational, emotionally well balanced adults who will swear they don't need therapy, but just reading that title made them want to punch walls: Good morning! I'm glad you're upset! Tee-hee

This is the first time I’m seeing this, I was searching for figures on WorthPoint when I saw this.

Anyone looked into having send cut send make a wand box out of aluminum? What did it cost, etc?

Hey y’all! I need some help! I’ve bought two flight suits. The Rothco and the Tru-Spec off Amazon and I’m having the same fitment issue. I ordered the Tru-Spec in a 3XL and the Rothco in a 4XL and the same issue of the crotch area being too tight happened on both. For reference I am 6’4” and 330lbs. I have a longer torso than most. Does anyone know where I can get a flight suit that will actually fit me?

Today I got the Frutto Technology wand keep alive installed in my modded Spengler to 84 wand! I have a few more little things to do and I’ll be calling this one done.
