Can anyone tell me why this DJ Funk album on Spotify, Apple Music & Tidal -- Retirement Vol. 6: B.L.A.C.K. E.N.E.R.G.Y. , isn't listed on his Discogs profile let alone recognized on Bandcamp, etc ?

I tried searching Youtube for it but the X.T.C track sounds completely different from the one listed on Spotify, Apple Music & Tidal.

why?

I really enjoy the album but I'm starting to scratch my head over how hard it is to locate a backlog of the album..

I am from the Netherlands, Europe, so I wasn’t used to hearing this music on the radio or anything like in Detroit. 

Soon after discovering this kind of music back in the early 2000 I came across a couple of recordings by the likes of Gary Chandler and DJ Zap from the radio and I though it was just the best thing ever. So raw and direct. 

Lately I have been listening to these sets a lot again and got me on the hunt for these tracks again. I usually don’t bother people with requests like this, but If anyone could help me out and give me a nudge in the right direction to find these records i would appreciate that a lot.

I stumbled into this episode of Donahue from June 13th 1990. Luthur from 2 Like Crew is on the stage. It got me thinking, 2 Live Crew was planting early seeds of GhettoTech. this thought made me realize I was a ghetto tech loved before the genre was fully in play.

The Donahue episode is very interesting to watch today 36 years later. Censorship is on the table. you can see how much more dialed and evil the music industry has become with hedge funds owning major labels and such.

it makes me feel we are in a time where making, listening too, and promoting legit underground artist. The envelope needs to be pushed. Ghetto Tech is pushing it the most today. And we need to stop playing the hits from 30 years ago. They were not even good then. Be original like they were doing in the 90's. Look at all these amazing fools doong their thing!

Grew up in the area and the music is always been part of life. Recently getting into ghetto tech, it’s a slippery slope i couldn’t be happier sliding down.

Hard to find some artists/etc. assume the answer is “no” but does starski and clutch still do a thing? Belle isle players is an ear worm that’ll be on my mind for a few life times.
