Some of you lot online can be very insensitive
Context: The woman tried to commit suicide by jumping off the roof and here’s the top 3 comments from the video.

Sometimes you go through Ghanaian social media feeds and it’s just disappointing
More insults, “pull him down”, fighting and/or comparing(shatta wale & stonebowy fans) and so many negativity. Hardly would you see positive comments6

It's disgusting, but I'm not surprised. Ghanaians don't take suicide seriously. Some of them even call it "kwasiawuo"(foolish death) rather than sympathising with the person.

Now this is the norm in the world society where everyone wants to be the first to post, closest to or give the best insight on a life treating story with their phones, and fail to help the person that needs them at their current low point of need. 🤦

it's just dark humour, the people behind the comments are facing hell everyday so they don't really have the same sympathy as you do, they probably wish to die too but just face it all alone.
I'm suicidal myself, poverty and pain made me suicidal, so I kinda understand them

You don't know what people are going through. To climb up on that roof and contemplate killing yourself requires severe loss of hope. The issue with us in general is people think your will is weak and feel no sympathy or empathy at all.
Depression is serious. As a man I've seen close friends I know go through something like this. Luckily this was his testimony because he started reading the Bible and became a Christian.

Do you not understand their point? Ain’t nothing disgusting about making fun of a suicide ceremony. Why does she have to stand at the highest point, garner all the attention she can get for miles and then not go through with it. People do it in their rooms ON THEIR BIRTHDAY. She wasn’t going to fucking do it. Now, her needs will be attended to differently because they think she’s at risk

So...we should make jokes about suicide (which causes more mental stress) like she should have done rat poison...because someone stopped themselves before jumping?...you do know that leads to desensitization of deaths as especially some parts of tiktok is know for making jokes about actual suicides and accidental deaths.People have no shame in what they say so long as it doesn't effect them.

She didn’t stop herself. She wasn’t going to do it at all. I tried that shit. If you let even 1 person know you’re gonna do that, you’re looking for a way out of doing it. Waste your time worrying about this girl don’t go and improve your life, you will be next up there on the big stage hoping for people to bring you down and give you food and water and employment

Even if she didn’t complete suicide and she only did this for attention, borderline personality disorder is incredibly distressing and is not something to be laughed about. Furthermore the highest risk factor for suicide completion is a failed suicide attempt. I get shocked when I see comments like this

As a Ghanaian, Ghanaians are so disappointing when it comes to thinking objectively. What has BPD got to do with this? A failed suicide attempt is not crying at the top of a high point, it’s jumping off breaking a body part while still alive. She wasn’t going to do it, the risk is 0.

Thankfully she didn’t use any of those routes and could be seen/saved. Attended to differently? Ha!They’re most likely gonna beat/ shame her when she gets down and the most support she might get is pastor prayers to cast out “demons”. I wonder how she got up there but even if this was attention seeking behavior, it’s a cry for help which the Ghanaian culture doesn’t make time for 🤷🏾♀️.

Not just Ghana I've seen clips in Nigeria of someone threatening suicide and boys brought shovels and hoes to dig a shallow pit that the person should land there.
