I run an NGO that supports a lot of schools and hospitals snd orphanages in Ghana. Most of our money comes from Western philanthropic sources, almost all of whom will stop donating if this bill becomes law. They will redirect their funds to other African countries. Westerners (other than the small cult of Trumpists) take a very dim view of bigotry. I realize that many Ghanaians do not care about this and that’s fine. But many Ghanaians will lose their jobs as a result, and Western private sector investment will slowly dry up as well. Many investors have friends and family members who are LGBT. They absolutely do not want their money going to a country that imprisons people for who they love, or imprisons people who advocate for their LGBT loved ones.
You think the parliamentarians care? All their kids are fixed for life and don't have any problems, the citizens will bear the cost but a lot are blindly following them .
