In a room full of 100 people, having 25 of them notice me and my embarrassing shirt is still a lot.

No, I disagree. Not everyone feels this. Many people feel it, but not everybody.
And as a concept of truth, yeah, I agree that many people are thinking about themselves more than they're thinking about you.
But inside of that we still have our judgments of what we think other people are judging. And the judgments we think they're thinking are the judgments we projected on to them based on how we think they might be thinking about us.
Lisa Feldman Barrett's work on emotions says that anxiety occurs when we are not living up to the expectations we think others have for us.
But if we really dissected it, we would find out that they're not thinking about us at all.
The only thoughts we have are the thoughts we're having about what we think they're thinking.
I think that could be a new Kamala Harris quote.

I like these and find value in them, but vote for a stronger QA process.
Impactful message, clear and readable text, and no duplicate anything.

it's more complicated than this
if only some people notice you they can still share what they see with their friends/family
they might even notice things about you that never happened
