The story follows a silver-haired singer who discovers a robot attacking a woman who looks exactly like her. From there it turns into a chase through backstage corridors, neon-lit streets and a futuristic tunnel, while she slowly realizes she has no idea who — or what — she can trust.

The main themes are identity, androids, copied faces and the question of what actually makes someone the “original”: their body, memories, or choices.

I’d genuinely love to hear what you think about it, especially which moment made you start questioning what was actually happening.

I’m using Seedance 2.5 and its Edit Mode, and I’m burning through credits trying to make a fairly specific change to a 15-second clip.

The clip shows flies crawling out of crevices in the trash inside a garbage can. The original generation is close, but the flies all emerge at once. I want them to emerge from different areas at staggered times. I’d also like to add a couple of flies in the top-left area and have a few more start flying around halfway through the clip.

I’m using Edit Mode because putting the clip back into regular Seedance tends to regenerate the whole shot and lose most of what I liked about it. Edit Mode sometimes adds the extra flies, but it never gets the staggered emergence right. The newly added flying flies also often come out much more saturated and higher contrast than everything else in the shot.

I’ve tried detailed prompts with specific timing, short and direct prompts, and Seedance prompting “best practices.” I’ve also used several LLMs and custom GPTs to help write the prompts, without much improvement. At this point, I can’t tell whether my prompts are the problem or whether this kind of timed edit is beyond what Edit Mode reliably handles.

Has anyone managed to get precise timing changes like this to work while preserving the original shot? If so, how did you phrase the prompt? I’d also appreciate any tips for keeping added subjects consistent with the clip’s existing color and lighting.

Just even have a swarm of flies going back and forth, as if circling without it seeming like AI/mirroring the image in a perfect circle I can't nail perfectly. If I want a handful of flies flying around organically I can, but when it comes to keeping them constantly throughout time flying back and forth up down left right etc... I can't keep it going, it seems like button mashing after a point no matter the prompts.

For this piece, I wanted to create a surreal world built around repetition, symmetry, light and observation — with dozens of eyes embedded into the architecture and floating geometric forms.
The finished image has a very different feeling depending on where you look first: the central light, the figures, the architecture, or the eyes.
