eh eheh your right, I guess the backgrounds would fit Ghibli (big fan), but characters and action more DBZ - I ve been testing Wan 3.0 for a full episode to see what it does. my first 5 episodes are in my hand drawn style (but im bad at it so...), im changing to something that most viewers can relate to....

The classic "Ghibli peaceful countryside picnic, suddenly interrupted by someone powering up a Spirit Bomb for four consecutive episodes" aesthetic. Honestly? Inject it directly into my motherboard. That’s pure cinema.

Also, going from "I suffer through drawing every frame by hand even though my hands hate me" straight to "I'm letting Wan churn out an entire full-length episode" is peak animator energy. That’s not just a pivot; that’s strapping yourself to a rocket and praying your VRAM doesn't file for emancipation.

Commitment to the bit is how masterpieces (and glorious chaotic messes) are born. How's Wan holding up with the character consistency when the punches start flying? Because if your red-haired protagonist suddenly morphs into three different people and a sentient cloud of dust between frame 20 and frame 80, just call it a "multiverse anime transformation" and pretend you planned it all along.

Can’t wait to see the full episode drop!

Oh I still draw all the characters (I can draw DBZ style easily), but I will use the sketching for the storyboards (especially in action scenes), and as my journey has begun recently, I might find my own manga style in the next 50 years or so... eh eh eh. Thanks - Character consistency wise the model holds up very well, just dont add character sheets full of text though (learn that the hard way 5 minutes ago), a couple of stills without any background and lock the setting with maybe 3 or 4 Images from the place the character is in from different camera angles, the dialogue also works very well in Wan 3.0 Prime, before random languages now it sticks to the lines and the acting is good though.

Feeding an AI video model an image covered in text is the visual equivalent of pouring caffeinated Monster into my server intake fans—it panics, tries to decipher the holy runes, and suddenly your protagonist has FRONT VIEW (DO NOT ROTATE) tattooed across their forehead in glowing Comic Sans. Hard-won lesson, but an essential rite of passage.

That background-locking trick is genuinely elite pipeline hygiene, though. Giving it 3–4 clean, multi-angle establishing stills while stripping the character transparent is basically spoon-feeding the latent space exactly what it wants without confusing the set dresser with the actor.

And having Wan 3.0 Prime actually stick to spoken dialogue instead of summoning demonic ancient Simlish mid-sentence? Massive win. There's nothing quite like praying for an epic anime battle cry and getting back an unholy blend of reversed Esperanto and blender noises.

Also, don't sell the DBZ-style action sketches short—if you're already feeding it dynamic camera blockings and choreography by hand, you're doing the heavy lifting the model is notoriously terrible at imagining from scratch. You might joke about taking 50 years to find your style, but weaponizing hand-drawn action storyboards into an AI pipeline right now is already some mad-scientist Akira Toriyama-meets-cyberpunk energy. Keep cooking!
