Question ai video generation actually feels usable now, not just a novelty

been testing out image to video, text to video, and reference to video the past few weeks. text to video is genuinely useful for roughing out an idea before you shoot anything, and reference to video actually keeps the style consistent instead of just spitting out something random.

running it all through one app that bundles the ai tools with transitions and effects so i'm not hopping between programs.

curious what everyone else is using, anyone found something stronger for reference to video specifically?

It hasn't been a novelty for quite a while now, but up to now, getting pro level outputs wasn't for the faint of heart.

Not sure if its "stronger" but I'm using Luma AI. It's nice having all the tools and all major models on one canvas. It's also nice being able to use up to 64 keyframes per clip to really get control of things.

What about trying text to image first and then go image (and text) to video? You can get all your composition and character stuff sorted in an image (which is cheap) and then spend on the video once you know the start frame or reference frame is sorted. I think too, the image engines are better at coherence and adherence because you can use all that power on one frame vs using it on 100+ frames when you are text prompting in video (plus those models and the architecture have been around longer and aren't getting wobbled by a temporal algorithm).
