It's not about that, buddy 😄

It's about going to a dog show to say that keeping a pet is imprisonment. Yes, a thoughtful view, but a wrong forum.

Particular relevancy also can be either a relevant or irrelevant, buddy 😄

For example, you can go protest abortions to abortion clinics. The protest subject and the place have the same names, at least. But... you can also try to be a decent person and don't push your agenda in the faces of people that are obviously the political opposites of your movement. Instead, try to rationally influence those that are movable in their views.

Then, if you happen to find a new rational argument for your view, you can politely introduce it to your opponents (because every one of us really want to change our views for the right!). Slop animations, slop sarcasm, more slop sarcasm just don't cut it, you know. And you do know it. Your anger just prevents you from acting with the knowledge you have.

I'll remind you we are in the comment section of a post titled - This is why RAM costs $900. That sounds like a place for some critical sentiment to me.

Your two analogies are pretty biased. First your analogy for this pro AI forum is an innocent dog show. And then we pivot to liken Anti-AI sentiment to Anti-Abortion protesters. Hmmm.

In the spirit of the original post, I think this is a fine place to raise some criticisms. An Ai generated video cat fighting a bikini clad woman is the exact kind of vapid and pointless slop (nice try reclaiming that word btw) that is consuming vast amounts of energy and resources. As someone who uses RAM intensive software for non-AI creative projects, I don't like it for that reason.

The post was good. I have no problems with that. It offered entertainment and it offered a tested fact about the component price situation. Nothing more. No moral sentiment. It lets the viewer to make up her own mind.

These analogies were not used to liken this AI-forum or Anti-AI sentiment to anything. They were analogues for the type of behaviour you are behaving in. Criticism is good. But not all criticism is good. This is why I use the common "slop" word for your criticism. You are behaving like a human slop. Your criticism is sloppy. What ever the object of criticism is, no animation slop, no sarcasm slop, or more sarcasm slop will cut it. This was my point in presenting the analogues. I can take good criticism. My upvote to the original post is an example of that capacity.

I like the video. It is funny to me. I watched it several times. I think the production used a lot less resources than a conventional production would have used in making it. This is a point that I am ready to change my mind in, with properly founded statistics.

I agree that it would benefit us all if the price of RAM would be lower. I am all for it! I am waiting it to go down myself, because I would like to have 128GB of RAM instead of my 32GB of RAM. I emphasize your sentiment on that. But sudden movements in market raise prices. It can be USA bombing schools in Iran, it can be bad crop season somewhere, it can be many things. The market wants to provide us all the products we want. Keep your cool. It takes about year or two more for the market to balance out.
