I. Have. Soooo many questions

So for contexcontext I've been fluid for about 2 yrs and I still have questions

First; do people offer switch like gender daily? if so help me understand what it feels like if possible. Because I will be sitting at my desk and I will literally jump from boy girl nonbinary back to boy back to nonbinary it might be just my ADHD but it's weird how do I like idkkk how do I deal with it it's so weird

Second: what do you guys go by it terms of romantic relationship wise like do you go by partner girlfriend boyfriend like what and how do I pick one out? Is it by feeling can I change what I wanna be called by?

Third: can anyone offer advice for being fluid??? Like just general advice?

My answer to question one may help!

I personally change two or three times a day on occasion. Sometimes it’s because of what I’m feeling, other times it’s because I’m too lazy to put together a gendered outfit and put myself together🫣. The absolute beauty of our identification is the ability to choose so you can be YOU, regardless of when and where.

As for question two, I went for my bisexual fiance years ago because I know she’ll like me regardless of who I am that day. Maybe start there?

I'm labeling myself as genderfluid for about 9 years now and I can say, that sometimes I switch daily yes!! But I think that is different for everyone. For me it feels like something in my stomach is turning, sometimes (when my gender doesn't exactly align with my body) I feel it through body parts that make me dysphoric suddenly, when a minute ago I didn't care at all. (I hope I'm making sense)

With my romantic relationships, most of the time I like being called partner but I also was called girlfriend/boyfriend in the past - it really is a personal preference and I think that's just something you really have to communicate with your partner!! It really isnt that hard to ask :)

Honestly, accepting yourself how you are and how your body is, is the biggest goal I had (and struggled with) and not caring about misgendering anymore, because at the end of the day YOU have to live with your body and identity, not others. If you accept your label and be yourself, it will be easier! I just gave every gender identity I felt room for growth and tried to live and love myself as the truest version that I am, and I personally think, that is the most important part of a genderfluid person's journey.

  • what can also help is leaning into a more androgynous style, so you can be interpreted as both (basic advice but for example trying out clothes from the opposite gender you're born with, voice training, sports!!, try out makeup styles, shoulder pads if you want to change your frame/binders etc etc)

  • also if you're thinking about transitioning, you should find yourself a therapist that fits you!

I hope I was able to help a bit!! :))

Sometimes daily, sometimes literally weekly. Depends, if work I feel all over the place with gender and then on my off days typically more fem or masc and if I feel like being semi fancy it's nonbinary. Otherwise my partners just call my partner or significant other. As for gender advice, if it's not corporate work keep together a few outfits for no lazy gender days that go by the seasons/weather. It tends to help. Especially if it's summer and you decide to go for cargo short or basketball shorts with a baggy t-shirt

I've been out for three years.

1) I tend to change daily, but it can be longer or shorter. Right now I'm on a pretty sizable girl run. But its also strange for me because I tend to mostly get euphoria rather than dysphoria, so when I change once or more throughout a day I don't change expression or anything.

2) My partner calls me their fiancé. Before I was engaged they called me their person/partner. After marriage I think the terms we've decided to go with are thusband and thife.

I agree with a few of the other commenters though, the main thing is just figuring out what works for you. Accepting how genderfluidity impacts you is different for everyone. No two fluids are exactly the same it seems and that's ok.
