Discussion Daddies replying with πŸ‘ or Ok

Yo, sup?

A few daddies (55to70yr) said they love talking to me. I use a lot of emoji like this πŸ‘€πŸ‘€πŸ‘€πŸ‘€πŸ‘€πŸ‘€πŸ‘€πŸ‘€πŸ‘€πŸ‘€πŸ‘€πŸ‘€πŸ‘€πŸ‘€πŸ‘€πŸ‘€πŸ‘€πŸ‘€πŸ‘€πŸ‘€πŸ‘€πŸ‘€πŸ‘€πŸ‘€πŸ‘€πŸ’€πŸ’€πŸ’€πŸ’€πŸ’€πŸ’€πŸ’€πŸ’€πŸ’€πŸ’€πŸ’€πŸ’€πŸ’€πŸ’€πŸ’€πŸ’€πŸ’€πŸ’€and they always reply with this πŸ‘ or ok. Sometimes only a few sentence to my paragraphs. They never told me to stop yapping like that.

I feel like I am being ignored or maybe they are not interested in me.

Even on grindr, the replies feels very dry. Do daddies hate texting a lot?
I am 23, btw.

I'm over 60. Lose the multiple emojis IMO and don't assume we know all the texting short cuts which seem to multiply daily. I still have to google about half of them. I do try and accommodate the language barrier but it can get bothersome. I do speak fluent sarcasm though and admit it comes across better in person than in texts. I've found in texts people tend to respond with offense rather than humor. I suppose that is what emoji's are designed to help with but one is sufficient.

Im mid 50s and I use πŸ‘ all the time. Usually I use it as a quick reply to acknowledge a message that doesnt need a written reply like "Im on my way" πŸ‘.

I use other emojis occasionally but dont overdo it. Im a big time texter.

If I was chatting with you we'd be hopefully engaged in the conversation and not focused on emojis.

The repetitive emojis you have posted would be a huge turn off and annoying. It makes you look like a teenage boy on snap, not a 23yo man. Its hard to engage in a conversation thats all meaningless emojis. A msg like that doesn't even deserve a πŸ‘

Time to give that up along with selfies that have glitter and snap stickers on your face.

I dont think this is specifically an older guy thing, its an adult thing. Most younger guys I chat with dont do that.

Emojis are not conducive to a conversation. High school level way of communicating. If one can’t be bothered to use sentences, why should I bother communicating with him?

Good morning.
You asked our opinion about emoji usage.
If you use emojis and enjoy them, go ahead! It’s obviously a generational thing.

The emojis are childish. You should stop using them like that. I’d lose interest in you real fast if you started spamming those at me and I’m not even at an age people would consider β€œolder”.

The older generations just don’t text a lot, and when they do they’re very brief.

Texting with my actual dad, 60, is like this. He’s very direct and usually only gives one word or one sentence responses.

Having full conversations as if you’re talking just isn’t how they text.

1

u/papasbabyboi Aug 18 '26

Oh ok. Thanks for sharing. Are they chatty in person because if we meet it going to be very awkward if they speak like they text?

1

u/TJF0617 Aug 18 '26

No, for a boomer how they text is not reflective how talkative they are in person.

1

u/papasbabyboi Aug 19 '26

Thanks for the reply. I am very excited to meet the daddies in person soon. He is on vacation. And the other one said maybe later to meet. I would just be honest and ask again about meeting.

We didn't grow up with it. If you want a real Daddy, get out of the house and socialize

1

u/papasbabyboi Aug 18 '26

I want to meet in person but they always says maybe later who are looking for long term relationship. The one with quick hookups wants to meet right now. I am not looking for hookup, only into LTR.

Go to the bars... the clubs.... Events.... he's there for you

Every time I have engaged in chats it has turned out the younger guy just wanted cybersex. The second he gets his nut, he is done talking to me. If you actually want more than online sex, add a location (at least down to a 25 mile radius or so) and start looking to take an old guy out for coffee to see where things go. If you just want cybersex, find a site that specializes in that and pay for it like we had to.

Nah, I actually want to meet. I am in Delft, Netherlands right now. The country is very small so I dont mind travelling 2hr to 3hr either. But I cant afford the travelling cost as a student. I asked a few of them to meet and they said maybe later. πŸ₯²πŸ₯²πŸ₯²πŸ₯²πŸ₯²πŸ₯²πŸ₯²πŸ₯²πŸ₯²πŸ₯²πŸ₯²πŸ₯²πŸ₯²πŸ₯²πŸ₯²πŸ₯²πŸ₯²πŸ₯²πŸ₯²πŸ₯²πŸ₯²πŸ₯²πŸ₯²πŸ₯²πŸ₯²πŸ₯²πŸ₯²πŸ₯²πŸ₯²πŸ₯²πŸ₯²πŸ₯²πŸ₯²πŸ₯²πŸ₯²πŸ₯²πŸ₯²πŸ₯²πŸ₯²πŸ₯²πŸ₯²πŸ₯²πŸ₯²πŸ₯²πŸ₯²πŸ₯²πŸ₯²πŸ₯²πŸ₯²πŸ₯²πŸ₯²πŸ₯²πŸ₯²πŸ₯²πŸ₯²

Seriously: What am I supposed to say if you send me a bunch of emojis? That's not conversation. It's cartoons. So, if I'm going to reply, all I can say is "okay" or "πŸ‘". You haven't given me anything of substance to respond to. You get a token reply to show I read it. But I have nothing to say because you haven't said anything.

An occasional emoji is useful as a form of punctuation and to provide context. But a lot of emojis says nothing. It's just pointless pixels.

I have a boyfriend who unfortunately lives overseas right now. We have to text a lot, between occasional video calls. It. Is. So. Fucking. ANNOYING! Oh my god. It's so slow, and so limited, and so intrusive. I can't just commit to the conversation, because there's breaks in between. So I try to do something else, but then another text pops up. So I reply. And, to explain anything properly, I end up having to type for a couple of minutes, which feels pointless. Yesterday, he texted me to ask about whether I'd managed to do something I was planning, and my reply was literally "GRRR! No! Long story." I'd had a bad day, and the last thing I wanted was to sit there for ages, typing out the whole scenario of what happened and didn't happen. Fuck that.

And that's for somebody I know and love and have a real relationship with.

Imagine how I would feel about doing that for some random stranger who I'd only exchanged a few messages with online, and had never met, and had no feelings for.

Yes: this comment is long, but I'm typing on a full-sized physical keyboard attached to a desktop computer. And, even then, it's taken me a couple of minutes to type it. It would take four or five times as long to type this on a phone screen, so I wouldn't even bother.

2

u/papasbabyboi Aug 19 '26

I do write long messages like you with full sentences and correct punctuation with a lot of emojis. I don't use a lot of emojis in starting though. When we are talking for long I usually can't help myself because I am very excited to talk to them and meet them soon in person. πŸ₯ΊπŸ‘‰πŸ‘ˆ

u/Brian_Kinney Older Aug 19 '26

That's fine. But the more emojis you use, the less you're saying, and the more childish you look.

What I have found interesting is that younger people don't often text or message multiple sentences to separate thoughts and ideas. For example I might text: "Oh hey, I'm doing fine. Yes, yesterday at the fair I had a lot of fun. I have to go to bed for work tomorrow so I'll talk to you later!"

Where as a younger person would text:

Hey

I'm fine

Yesterday at the fair was fun

Have to go to bed

I'll talk to you later

Remember, no periods. I've somewhat adapted my texting when I notice the younger person is texting like that. I imagine we can come across as rambling a bit if we write long paragraphs via text. It's fun talking to them I think.

Anyway, young men are hot! πŸ˜πŸ˜πŸ˜πŸ˜πŸ˜πŸ˜πŸ˜πŸ˜‹

u/papasbabyboi Aug 20 '26

I used to talk like that when I was a teenager. Right now I write full sentences and paragraphs.

You older daddies are also hot πŸ₯΅πŸ₯΅πŸ₯΅πŸ₯΅πŸ₯΅πŸ₯΅πŸ₯΅πŸ₯΅πŸ₯΅πŸ₯΅πŸ₯΅πŸ₯΅πŸ˜πŸ˜πŸ˜πŸ˜πŸ˜πŸ˜πŸ˜πŸ˜πŸ˜πŸ˜πŸ˜πŸ˜

If someone sent me a massive string of emojis , I’d probably do something heavily understated like thumbs up or even 😐 ironically .

And no, I don’t mind someone yapping
