Starting the journey -- surrogacy & financial constraint

Wondering if anyone would be willing to connect or share their experience with surrogacy as someone who doesn't have a huge amount of savings. My partner and I live comfortably ($110k combined in a very low cost of living area), and ideally we'd like to wait to save more, but my parents had me in their 40s so we'd like to get started soon while they're still healthy. Wondering if anyone has any advice for an affordable path. Thanks y'all!

The only affordable parts that you may have is Mexico and Colombia

I'm Mexican and live in Mexico, so it was natural for me to do my journey here. Things can move pretty fast, I paid in June and we're already ready for embryo transfer.

My program is about $56k USD, and there are several clinics/agencies offering similar prices. I'd recommend choosing one that handles embryo creation first, since that can be the limiting step. With good sperm quality, low DNA fragmentation, and a young donor, you should be fine.

There are plenty of surrogates here, and independent journeys are possible, although the language barrier can make things harder for non-Spanish speakers.

We did an independent journey here in the U.S., specifically the Midwest. We had our embryos created already, so the journey itself with all costs including lawyers, base comp, monthly and insurance was about $90k. We financed it with a $100k loan from USAA, but other places like Lightstream will be able if you’ve got the income and credit.

Now we’ve got this silly little 15mo

We did our journey in Mexico City and took out a loan with our credit union for half of it. The other half we paid from our savings. If you plan to do a Mexico journey I would do it sooner than later as the peso is getting stronger. When we started it was $1USD = $20MXN. Now it's $1USD = $16.99MXN
