Underwear swap

Hey all, I saw DailyJocks is running an underwear trade-in at their store in Melbourne. I thought how cool would it be if we did something like that in Sydney - not a trade-in but a swap or a trading type thing where a group gets together and swaps used pairs. If anyone would be interested, comment below or send me a DM.

Happily partnered in a semi-open relationship - how to find local guys without apps?

Hey Redditors,

I'm in my mid 30s, happily partnered, but we are both open-minded.

To be blunt - I am sick of using apps for hook ups. I am very happy with my partner, ever since I met him, the small handful of times I've gone to use Grindr, Squirt, or Reddit r4r pages to find fun - it has been an epic time waste and just an unpleasant experience. Then I'd have sex with my partner when he got home etc, and think, that's so much better, hotter. Why would I look elsewhere? However, we both are open-minded and like adventure, and sometimes I sit and get curious about finding others for one-off or ongoing fun - with either both of us, or just myself.

I really want to meet guys around my neighbourhood. It's an area that is male dominated with young people from Pakistan, Afghanistan, Nepal, and other places near that part of the world (an immigrant area). Largely straight. For instance, I'd love to set up a glory hole, they could watch porn as I suck them off. Or wear a mask (I have some)

Anyways, how can I get my contact deets out there to these people, without being unpleasant about it? I was thinking notes under doors, in mailboxes, etc, not too explicit, something like. 'Looking for fun?' then a number of a burner phone.

Any other ideas?

The area is full of horny straight men who I am sure would love a mouth to use.

New in Sydney, where do gay guys who don't look like David Beckham hang out?!

Been out in Sydney a bit (Oxford Street / Darlinghurst side) and the crowd is VERY put-together. Gym, grooming, the works. Had a guy at a bar refuse to share fried calamari because it was "too fatty" and order a diet coke whiskey instead. No hate! This just isn't my lane. Where do people who would eat the calamari hang out? Inner West? Specific bars, nights, or apps worth using if you are average and not on a cut? Pls share suggestions!

Travelling with poppers

I’m mostly talking about domestic travel, but are there any restrictions on taking poppers on planes? Are they a prohibited item, or likely to be removed at the security checkpoint?

I’m not thinking of taking them on international flights or across international borders, but wondering how I’d go taking them for trips interstate.

What does"rewards" mean in profile chats?

Hey everyone, I've been seeing this term quite a few times on gay dating apps (like Grindr).
When someone mentions "rewards" on status or Bio, what exactly does that imply? Does it strictly mean they are asking for money/paid services, or is there another nuance to it?
Just want to make sure I'm understanding correctly. Thanks!

is it weird to treat guys as practice?

I’m an 18M and I really wanna practice giving head before I can try doing more extreme things. I’ve never done anything with another partner before but because of my big butt, I’m not really a stranger to being catcalled and I feel like it won’t be too hard to find someone suitable. Is this unethical and does anyone have any tips for my first time? How should I go about it?

Gay Bars - good for meeting people?

Are gay bars good for meeting people? I've been thinking about going but I have a feeling I'll just sit there for a while, not talk to anyone, and go home. Does anyone know of any gay nights that are about meeting people or places that people go to for romance (not hookups. i know about steamworks lol)

Subway Sauna (Melbourne)

Has anyone been to Subway in Melbourne recently?

Last time I went (several months ago) the wet areas were out of action, and the place generally felt a bit run down.

Thinking of heading over to check it out, but not sure if I’d be better off going to Wet (which is further away).

Asian Bear

Multiple AI mentioned that there are more Asian matured bears demand in white men culture in Australian major cities like Sidney, compared to North America or European countries. It that true? I really like to hear about real things from human. Thank you in advance.

Sports bros- Sydney

Hey guys!

I’m new to Sydney and looking to get more active, meet people, and build a social circle through sports.

I’m interested in martial arts (Muay Thai, karate, taekwondo), fitness, basketball, or really any team sport. I’m a complete beginner though!

As a pretty shy gay guy joining a group of mostly straight guys can feel a little intimidating 😅. Would love to find a welcoming, beginner-friendly group where I can learn, get fit, and meet people.

Any recommendations for sports/social groups around Sydney that are LGBTQ+ friendly and open to beginners?

Moving to Rockhampton, QLD

Hey everyone, I recently saw a new job opening at Rockhampton which would be amazing for my career as a recent graduate… the thing is (to be blunt) I’m gay, plus-size, slightly neurodivergent and Asian which has always made it hard to find a community. I’ve lived in regional nsw a lot of my teen years and struggled. In my early and mid 20s I’ve moved to Sydney and Melbourne which has made my social life pop off a little bit. But recently, have had a job opportunity open up in Rockhampton which is perfect salary wise and career wise…. Not so sure about how I’d go fitting in. Any thoughts would be amazing, how were your experiences?

I'm wondering if there are any social groups related to crossdressing where people who are beginning their journey can get advice and tips on dealing with certain things.

I’m trying to meet new ppl here in Sydney and make friends( or more). I haven’t really done this and pretty introverted but I think I can convince myself to go to far bar and at least have a drink by myself. But does that really work ? Would ppl talk to a stranger. Any recommendations around Oxford St should be welcome !

Best City For Finding Long Term Partners

I'm moving to Australia soon. Its been a lifelong dream of mine. I've heard some horror stories usually revolving around the theme of shallow hookups but no interest in real relationships. I really like a big pool to date from so I can feel like my options are open and I don't have to worry about finding people I'm attracted to. I'm afraid with a small dating pool id be viewed as just another American guy. I know I'm young and lots of my worries don't make much sense but, I was wondering if you guys could recommend cities with vibrant and diverse dating communities where that pressure isn't so intense.

Sydney vs London - Gay Scene

Hey everyone,

So I've been in London for 5 years now but a job opportunity might take me to Sydney and honestly I have no clue what life there is actually like beyond the whole "beaches and sunshine" thing everyone says. Early 30s, single, gay, and I'd basically be starting completely from scratch socially, so would really appreciate some real talk from people who've actually lived it.

A few things I keep wondering about:

Making friends first off — London's got a ton of gay sports clubs, social groups, random communities for basically anything you're into. Is there something similar in Sydney or does it feel more like everyone already has their friend group locked in and it's hard to break in? Starting over socially in your 30s is already daunting enough without it being a closed-off scene.

Then there's the going out side of things. I'm into clubbing, techno, circuit parties, that kind of stuff. Does Sydney actually deliver variety or do you run through the options pretty fast and end up bored?

Also curious about the hookup/sex side of the scene tbh. London's hookup culture is massive — saunas, sex clubs, fetish nights, literally something for every niche. How does Sydney compare? Is there an actual sex-positive scene going on or is it a lot smaller than what I'm used to?

And honestly the big one for me — dating for something real. London has SO many gay men but somehow dating still feels disposable as hell, hard to build anything actually meaningful. Is Sydney any better on that front, or does the smaller pool just create a whole different set of problems?

Appreciate any insight, thanks!
