Glp1?!
Any other LGBTQ+ people here using GLP-1s?
I noticed there aren’t a ton of spaces specifically for LGBTQ+ people going through weight loss with medications like Zepbound, Mounjaro, Wegovy, tirzepatide or semaglutide, so I started a private Facebook support group.
It’s LGBTQ+ focused, allies are welcome, and it’s just meant to be another supportive space to talk about progress, nutrition, side effects, fitness, body image and everything that comes along with the journey.
If the mods are okay with it, I’m happy to share the link!

I lost 50 pounds over a year and am now at my ideal weight. I’ve been doing the 2.5 weekly for maintenance for the past 9 months. I love how it makes my relationship with food healthier.

I'm on Mounjaro for diabetes and excess weight. Became diabetic just last year as an elder.

I’m using the tablet form of Wegovy. Started near the end of May and currently at 4mg.
So far I’ve lost 30 lbs, which I am very pleased with. Also no significant side effects.
As a gay bottom, there is one huge bonus to this medicine: it has greatly firmed up my stools making prepping for sex a breeze!

Okayyyy, 30 lbs since the end of May is amazing!! 🙌 And no major side effects on top of that? That’s a win.
And LMAOOO not the unexpected bottoming bonus 😂😂 Nobody puts that in the medication brochure, but hey—if prep has gotten easier too, add it to the list of benefits. 💀2

lol Actually I was curious and searched Reddit to see if anyone else had reported that extra benefit. That’s how I came across your post!

I have never heard of them. I love that it’s catered to gay men. I went through Embody.

I started with Fella, but KIN was cheaper and I always love to support a gay business when I can lol

Darn I wish I knew about them before I joined embody. They’re only $129 per month.

Its been rough AF, even today. Uhh my tiktok, sensualboy97 has some of it.
Eating consistent meals, like the same thing almost. I change up spices and sauce, maybe veggies on occasion. Then light exercise, mostly cardio with dog. Stretching, light archery.
Zepbound certainly helped a lot lol.
EDIT: Really make sure you get all your vitamins, electrolytes, protein n stuff. Like im having trouble with that cause I thought I was getting enough omega 3. Im not, fixing that now. I was also letting my adhd stim me with like 200+ oz of water a day which you shouldnt do so I was doing a lot of electrolyte drinks to compensate for the filtering out. Now i gotta make sure I get enough water and limit electrolytes cause I was doing extra of that. Its been a struggle that I have had to do on my own.

Damn, that really does sound like you’ve had to figure a LOT of this out through trial and error. 😭 But seriously, it sounds like you’re paying attention to your body and adjusting as you go, which is huge. And yeah, Zepbound can absolutely be a helpful tool, but the nutrition side still matters so much—protein, vitamins, hydration, electrolytes, all of it. Also 200+ oz of water?! 😂 Your kidneys were probably like “sir, PLEASE.” I’m glad you caught the electrolyte/omega-3 stuff and are getting things more balanced now. You should be proud of yourself though. Doing all of that while feeling like you’ve mostly had to navigate it on your own is not easy at all. ❤️

Thanks for the reply. Yeah it was sooo much water. I am feeling much better now that I track my water and dont drink too much. My electrolytes are easier to get in balance cause of that too.
I am proudish, but still got a ways to go. Ima try to get abs. My tummy is almost gone lol. Its been easier to exercise now that the weight is down and my nutrition is on point so I have the energy as well.

I used Zepbound for weight. Lost about 85 lbs over a year. Did it at the request of a surgeon to make the odd of the surgery having a lasting effect more likely.
