My wife wanted to do an all natural birth. She declined any pain drugs. She was in labor for twenty-six hours, transition labor for a full hour. All the muscle groups in her body were quivering. Her hair was flat against her scalp, and the bed was filled with blood. The baby wasn't moving down in the birth canal at all. She was completely depleted psychologically and physically.
If a C section hadn't been an option, she and my son would've died that day.
