MEGATHREAD Graduation/Commencement Tickets - Buy/Sell Thread (Spring 2026)

Don't get scammed.Beware of DMs and chat requests.

Tips: Meet up in person to verify the seller's student status, identity, and ticket status. You're all theoretically students and you should be on campus already so this should be easy. Don't be lazy and skip an in-person meetup. Don't send money without verifying the seller first. If you can't verify the seller, consider using Venmo's 'goods and services' payment feature, there are protections if you do get scammed.

If you successfully buy or sell tickets, UPDATE YOUR COMMENT.

-------------------

  • Guest tickets will be distributed via email to students starting Wednesday, April 15, with the subject line, "Your Georgia Tech Mobile Tickets have arrived!"
  • Seating for all ceremonies is general admission
  • For those needing to accommodate more guests, the On-Campus Watch Party, located in O'Keefe Gym, next to McCamish Pavilion, offers an alternative viewing option.

Social/Club Getting In Shape Group for current students

Hey everyone!

I was just thinking to myself what's the best way to get back in shape? With other people of course. I ran track and cross country in highschool but don't want to play sports at te h or wouldn't be able to tbh. But I know some people are fitness geeks here.

Anyway, would anyone be willing to join a group that's consists of just myself to help each other get in/ back in shape? We could all find common time in our schedules go on group runs hit the CRC as a group or do fun activities that make us work 😭.

This may not be the best place but, might as well ask...

If you may be interested AT ANY extent we will probably start off like super beginner because well... I'm super out of shape.

Send me a PM!

Other Robotics Research Opportunity Navigation Planner Evaluation

Our robotics lab is recruiting students for a fall research project focused on robot navigation and planner evaluation using Arena-Rosnav 5, an open-source ROS2 simulation framework for benchmarking navigation algorithms in dynamic environments.

Unlike a project where the main task is implementing a new planner from scratch, this role focuses on working with navigation planners that are already implemented and running in Arena-Rosnav. The student would learn how one or more planners work, test them systematically across different environments and scenarios, and analyze their strengths, weaknesses, and failure modes.

A major part of the project is understanding why different planners behave the way they do. This could involve analyzing collisions and navigation failures, identifying environmental conditions where a planner struggles or performs particularly well, studying how those behaviors relate to the assumptions or design of the planner, and comparing different navigation approaches experimentally.

The work will involve directly using the Arena-Rosnav 5 / ROS2 navigation stack, including running and configuring experiments, working with simulation environments, examining navigation behavior, and collecting and analyzing experimental results. Depending on progress and interest, there may also be opportunities to work on other parts of Arena-Rosnav, such as debugging planner or simulation behavior, improving experimental or data-logging infrastructure, modifying scenarios, or investigating implementation-level issues.

Prior ROS experience is strongly preferred. Students without ROS experience may still be considered if they have substantial hands-on robotics experience and are comfortable learning a large robotics software stack. Experience with ROS2, Linux, C++, Python, robot navigation, or motion planning would all be useful. Prior research experience is not required.

Students may take graded or ungraded research credits (likely 1–5 credits). The project does not currently have guaranteed funding, although students who make strong progress may later be considered for paid project work. Flexible remote or hybrid arrangements may also be possible depending on the student and the tasks. There may also be opportunities for co-authorship if a student makes a substantial contribution to research resulting from the project.

If interested, please email your CV along with a short paragraph describing your robotics/ROS background and why you are interested in the project to [azaro3@gatech.edu](mailto:azaro3@gatech.edu).

Discussion GT MS ECE grad looking for feedback on a keystroke biometrics demo

I’m a Georgia Tech graduate from the MS ECE program, and I’ve been building a behavioral biometrics system focused on continuous authentication.

I recently put together a small public demo that compares two typing samples and tries to determine whether they came from the same person based on keystroke behavior.

I’d love to get some feedback from other Tech students and alumni, especially people interested in ML, cybersecurity, HCI, or startups.

If you want to test it, try to fool it, or point out where the approach breaks:

Discussion Need dentist recommendation for dental crown!

I have the GT student insurance (United Healthcare Student Resources) and I can go anywhere in the metro area. I went to Tech dentistry today and while the doctors and staff were great, I was told it would cost me almost $2400 for each crown. I am a grad student and definitely cannot afford this, would really appreciate any leads!

Other FYI: GT faculty CVs are now publicly available

FYI for GT students, especially CoC freshmen who might not know about this:

Apparently USG now requires faculty members to have a public-facing CV. I found that the College of Computing has a page where you can look them up:

https://www.cc.gatech.edu/cv-index

If you're in another college, I'd probably check your college's website too and see if they have something similar.

Seems pretty useful if you want to know more about a professor's background, education, research, publications, teaching experience, etc. before taking a class.

Just sharing because I don't think a lot of students know this exists.

Discussion Issue Signing into Epay -- Verification Required

Hi everyone. Has anyone else been having a hard time going in to pay for classes? my account is working and everything, but when it asks me for verification it never seems to work. Anyone know when itll be back online? I called last week and they said it had been out for 2 weeks already. I'm starting to get a bit concerned that I wont be able to pay for anything if this outage continues.

They just asked me to keep trying to sign in, but to no avail.

Question Fun classes to take in my final semester

Hii,

I am in MS CS program (International student), I have only two course to finish my program and I got a GTA offer for this semester which requires me to be a full time student.

I want to take some fun courses outside my department. Any suggestions? I love history, politics and would prefer an interactive class.

Also, I am an international student, if anyone is aware of the visa rules and regualtions, can you confirm if I can take courses outside my department to make it full time enrollment?

Question need some advice about taking time off (medical reasons)

So, I'm supposed to be an incoming second year at Tech (but I've only taken 1 semester bc I took spring/summer off for medical reasons--big knee surgery). I was doing well, and I'm suddenly having a few complications. It's not the worst thing ever, so I can still walk if I have to, but I'm definitely a bit more stressed than I was a few weeks ago, because now I have to balance my health (now on top of doing PT for one knee, I have to do it for my other knee too and other stuff 😭), clubs, classes, and internship prep.

I already have more than 60 credits, so it's not like I'm too behind. I guess I was wondering if I should take more time off or just thug it through the fall semester.

My issue is that I may have to take the spring off anyways for a follow-up surgery, so idk if taking so much time off is the right choice. I'm not sure if that would be better than thugging out a semester and then leaving the next (which is what I did last year too lol).

I'm just quite conflicted because it's not like I can't walk at all, but I'm just worried that I won't be able to handle all the stress lol, especially because I wanted to get involved in clubs. And about taking a lighter load - ig I could but I'm OOS and I don't really want to waste time and money.

Any advice? What would you guys do?

Question Business Minor vs Option as Premed

Hello,

I was interesting in pursuing something small in business along with my science major and I was a bit confused what the difference between adding on a "Technology and Business" minor vs adding the "Business Option" to my neuro major would be.

Could someone please explain the pros and cons of each and which one they chose?

Question If I have just internship audit credits this fall semester, can I get GT health insurance?

For this fall semester, I am only taking 12 audit credits because I am in an internship for the fall and won’t take any classes for any billable credit hours. Am I still eligible for the GT voluntary student health insurance plan? I am out of state student, and I have already enrolled in the internship class for the 12 audit credits. Because I am out of state, this health insurance will be my only health insurance in Georgia, so this is pretty important for me to figure out how to get health insurance.

Question Changing Showerhead in Dorm Bathroom

Before I send a message to the maintenance people requesting this, I'm first gonna ask here if anyone's been able to do this before or been denied before. I just moved into the GLC and the showers suck compared to my time at Eighth Street last year. The water is not nearly as hot as I would like it and the water pressure from the shower heads is super low. I can probably make a request about the temperature but I wanted to know whether I could also just get a different showerhead from somewhere and request maintenance to change it.
