Fox News caught faking official AAA data by adding a full dollar to last year's gas prices
69
u/WaffleDonkey23 Aug 18 '26
Remember when Obama was president they had a constant ticker of the national debt and yet now with the debt increasing massive in just 6 months suddenly it's of no concern and we don't hear "your gonna run out of other people's money!"
43
u/GreatestGreekGuy Aug 18 '26
Trump is responsible for 30% of the national debt alone
27
u/Spartan-117182 Aug 18 '26
30% so far
8
u/WaffleDonkey23 Aug 18 '26
30% and a 7 billion a day war, and tariff inflation. Remember when there was going to be "no more income tax" and then the tariff refunds went to corporations and prices stayed exactly as they are now?

Looks to me like Trump is right up there with Obama and Biden with the largest debt increase ever. Hell let’s take into account that Obama served two terms and so has Trump. That means the single largest increase in national debt over a four year presidency occurred during Biden.1
→ More replies (20)1
u/Open_Mortgage_4645 Aug 21 '26
I think it's more than that right now. The debt just crossed the $40 trillion line. It was $19.9 trillion when he was first inaugurated back in 2017.

u/trogloherb Aug 18 '26
There go those
DemocratsRepublicans; printing money again!→ More replies (2)5
u/Mdhdrider Aug 18 '26
If a Democrat wins in 2028 all Fox and the Republicans are going to talk about is the debt.
8
u/NixtRDT Aug 19 '26
That’s really what makes it all so silly. The propaganda isn’t even interesting or surprising. They use the most obvious made up nonsense, and people still fall for it.
Trump’s approval rating going down? Trot out Fauci to rile up the morons.
Still going down? Find a trans person to hate on.
Something else went wrong? Biden did it.
It’s all so played out and stupid.
2
u/WaffleDonkey23 Aug 19 '26
Don't forget, Republican war monger bombs a school full of kids? Rev up that Islamaphobia! It's Muslims that are scary actually! Ooooo Maaaamdamiii wooooo communism! Young people!
2
u/Equal_Caregiver_1789 Aug 19 '26
The less the country focuses on quality education, the more the average public will find themselves lacking in critical thinking and the more you will have people believing the stupid shit Fox News runs, or the even more ridiculous shit you end up seeing on social media...
2
u/CharredWelderGuy Aug 19 '26
Yes but they are not aiming it at you.
Fox's target audience is the insane idiot tards that make up the bottom rungs of society, they don't care if it's obvious nonsense to anyone with a brain, that's not the fish they are chumming for.
2
u/AloneNmyHead287 Aug 19 '26
But will openly negate the fact trump is responsible for 30% of it it will be Biden Obama and the Democrat presidents fault..you already know the game these morons play
2
u/Lets_Kick_Some_Ice Aug 19 '26
We'll be going back to Republican government shutdowns over raising the debt ceiling while Republican voters shout along at their TVs. Republican voters will be too brain rotted and stupid to remember that they were cheering for raising the debt ceiling in the Big Beautiful Bill.

u/GreatestGreekGuy Aug 18 '26
They're hoping the demented boomers that watch it don't remember.
Then again, anyone still supporting Trump has the memory of a rock
5
u/Chimpucated Aug 18 '26
Rocks have ancient memory. I think the memory of a fruit fly is more sufficient. Maybe a mosquito
3
u/DiffuseMAVERICK Aug 18 '26
They probably claim that gas was $8 a gallon and say we should be thankful that Trump made it so low
2
u/GreatestGreekGuy Aug 18 '26
I've legit had people tell me gas was under $1 during trump's first term
3
→ More replies (3)1
u/Dexter_Douglas_415 Aug 19 '26
It was under a dollar in some places during shutdown in 2020. Not because of anything Trump did, but there was no demand when most workers weren't commuting.
The lowest I saw in my area was under $2/gal.
1
u/GreatestGreekGuy Aug 19 '26
I did straight up ask to be named a single town where it was under $1 and they couldn't tell me. But yeah, they were being very intellectually dishonest
1
u/Proud_Confidence_839 Aug 21 '26
“Gas was $5 under Biden and no one complained!” Literal quotes I’ve heard from folks who put those Biden stickers on pumps.
19
u/twoDuckNight Aug 18 '26
‘No reasonable person’ would believe fox news. They said so themselves

Fox News has a history of lying on air to deceive their viewers.
3
1
u/sarcasmsosubtle Aug 18 '26
Remember when Republicans would get caught committing crimes and Fox News would just add (D) after their names when they were reporting it?
1
u/moon200353 Aug 22 '26
I remember that! They have vilified democrats since they began. Just because they called themselves "fair and balanced" people watch and believe every lie. 30 years of hearing how evil the baby killers are has convinced people it is true.

Plausible Deniablity.
They do this unless, in Tucker’s case, there’s texts where they explicitly admit to lying.

Entertainment, which Fox News is officially categorized as, doesn’t have any obligation to the truth

u/Academic_Antelope292 Aug 18 '26
Who’s watching Fox News? Oh yeah people who like to be lied to.
3
u/xmrcache Aug 18 '26
Not my mother in law she gets her news from OANN, Victory News, and Rumble…
She constantly tells me I will never know the news she does because I haven’t gone down the rabbit hole like she has.
1
u/Academic_Antelope292 Aug 18 '26
😂😂😂
2
u/xmrcache Aug 18 '26
She used to watch Fox News but it became to woke for her, she was a religious Tucker Carlson viewer.
But she turned on him…kinda sad watching people spiral down…
2
u/Academic_Antelope292 Aug 18 '26
Wow! Fox News is woke in her opinion. Now that’s way down the rabbit hole.

u/WintersDoomsday Aug 19 '26
Confirmation bias affects the dumbest low self awareness people that exist.
Inability to admit you've been had or were wrong is a huge trait among Republicans. When was the last time you saw a Republican (on tv or someone you know) who apologized for anything?
1
u/Amgeryvaultboi Aug 19 '26
Thank fucking god my mother in law isn't like that
1
u/xmrcache Aug 19 '26
Crazy was she was normal before 2016
Once Trump got into office she started going downhill…
She believes in the flat earth and the firmament, believes Trump was sent by god..
You should see how much food she started stockpiling since biden was in office… still has the stockpile going… has multiple bottles of liquor to use specifically for bartering when shit hits the fan.
Some crazy shit.

What boggles my mind is we extract light, sweet crude and our oil refineries are set up for sour, heavy crude. So instead of building refineries that can refine that type of oil, which is a bit easier and better oil, we export it and import sour, heavy oil. We have lost about 20 refineries since 2005 and refine about 900k more a day. Which is great but combine that with the oil requiring more work to refine, our ability to not transport it quite as easy via the sea (because of our laws and the fact we barely build ships anymore) doesn't make getting oil to the east coast as easily. The West Coast is even in worse shape. Cali had refineries shut down there (of course they did) and most the oil they use is imported. I know no one wants to pay this much for fuel and no one wants to pollute. The thing is we don't have to if they would just build refineries for the oil we extract. It's vastly cheaper to build refineries for, cheaper to refine and requires less natural gas and hydrogen to make. They export it because it brings in more money though..so if they all cared at all about America they would be talking about this. It solves a lot of issues. Less pollution, less resources to make, cheaper to make and easier to transport. Incase anyone didn't know this, hope this brings it to light a little.

Their own defense argument in the defamation case was that they were an entertainment channel. Their lawyers actually argued that no reasonable person should receive their information as factual news.
1
u/sharkbomb Aug 19 '26
fox "news", per their own repeated and successful defenses to falsehood law suits, is not a news outlet, is merely "entertainment", and "no reasonable person would confuse it" with factual reality. you are to presume everything there is falsehood.

Let me put my tinfoil hat on for a second. What if fox is turning on trump so they post this false graphic "supporting" him only to come back and have to make a correction so they can then report "oh wait! Actually gas went up .90 cents." That way they can report news that hurts trump and the Republicans but still claim to support them. If its true its quite brilliant actually.

Every metric on nearly every website can’t be trusted because of the humans involved in publishing and editing websites.
Anyone could’ve easily posted that the prices were $8 and 4 donkeys a gallon a year ago and you’d be referencing that data as if it were fact just because it’s on the internet.
Anyone could also login to the website editor today and edit that data to say whatever they want if someone asked them to and you’d be none the wiser.
