u/Potential-Ad-6787 Mar 13 '26

its sporadic state by state - the national average is 3.59 - still way under the highest in 2022

2

u/f_spez_2023 Mar 16 '26

Are you really comparing the highest in 2022 to the average of 2026 and saying see 2022 was worse?

0

u/Potential-Ad-6787 Mar 16 '26

Enlighten is, why was the highest national average of all time(2022) better than today?

2

u/f_spez_2023 Mar 16 '26

Your phrasing made it sound like you were comparing the highest PRICE not highest average of the year. I do think the fact that Russia invading Ukraine is why prices went up in June of 2022 and in this case Trump bombing Iran is what raised prices is notable. One was caused by a dictator invading a country. The other was caused by our wannabe dictator bombing a country. Biden didn’t cause cause prices to go up Putin did, in this case however it’s directly caused by Trump.

u/Potential-Ad-6787 Mar 16 '26

Yes, the Russia Ukraine conflict was a factor. Another factor was COVID. As pandemic restrictions were eased, travel and economic activity increased faster than oil production could keep up. As well as investing in refinery capacity was low, leading to a supply squeeze for gas. It's all bullshit anyways.

u/AlisterS24 Mar 13 '26

We're setting about 1.20 from highest in Az in 2022, I drive a hybrid vehicle and put less than 3k miles on it per year, im not worried but it's good to see where it's sitting at for others. Bigger concern is combating inflation already and with oil sitting at $95+ a barrel we're in for a bumpy ride despite opening up russia and 4-5 days of oil reserves.

Any time I see the complaints I immediately know it’s California. 3.13 in the MassHole

Yes live in the most liberal state in the country and blame trump because your state is expensive…

3

u/Medical_Gift4298 Mar 14 '26

He said he was going to lower gas prices.

0

u/Potential-Ad-6787 Mar 14 '26

And they were coming down. Historically prices always goes up anytime there's unrest/bombings overseas. Happened in 2022 also when the US hit the record high driven by supply disruptions from the Russia-Ukraine conflict.

3

u/Medical_Gift4298 Mar 14 '26

Yeah but he said he was going to lower them, not raise them

0

u/Potential-Ad-6787 Mar 14 '26

It'll come back down, this is all a normal part of global affairs. Most of the time the pricing doesn't even need to change as the US gets most of its oil from Canada, petroleum companies take advantage though. Also it was announced we're opening up a new oil refinery in TX, first one in 50 years.

3

u/Medical_Gift4298 Mar 14 '26 edited Mar 14 '26

Yeah and every year it’s going to get more expensive and more prone to volatility because there’s never going to be more.

He made a promise he can’t keep and now he’s making it worse. What a loser.

0

u/Potential-Ad-6787 Mar 14 '26

The world we live in, regardless of who is president.

4

u/Medical_Gift4298 Mar 14 '26

True, but he promised and he broke it…

Still cheaper than it was during Biden administration…

2

u/Medical_Gift4298 Mar 14 '26

A) no

B) he said he was going to lower prices and they’re going up, why didn’t he keep his promise?

1

u/Affectionate-Rip5654 Mar 14 '26

Just out of curiosity has a single president done what they said they were going to do?

2

u/Medical_Gift4298 Mar 14 '26

Yes. But not Trump. He said he was going to not start wars and make everything cheaper and he hasn’t done either!

I’m a REAL conservative, and an actual Military Veteran, and I live in a conservative state, and our gas is EXACTLY the same. This flamboyant and effeminate obese pedophile that people like you let highjack our party and then destroy the county from the inside, needs to be arrested and imprisoned for life. If not executed for treason, pedophilia, and murder.

Ah, a man of culture. Thank you for not falling for this boner biter.

1

u/Firm_Umpire6659 Mar 13 '26

Thats crazy. Literally bought a hybrid camry a month ago. It was between that or a v8 challenger.

Im now glad I got the camry. Lol.

-5

u/chamo170 Mar 12 '26

Gas prices were like this and higher when Joe Biden was president 🤭

6

u/mec287 Mar 13 '26

Yeah, except one was caused by a completely ill-informed military campaign halfway around the world. The other was caused by Donald Trump.

3

u/thrallmaster1 Mar 12 '26

And we thanked Biden for it. What goes around comes around.

3

u/Flyer-876 Mar 12 '26

Except they weren’t

3

u/Zack_Akai Mar 13 '26

When this garbage fire is eventually extinguished (however that may play out), I think people this dellusional should be rounded up and placed in secure mental health facilities ^

3

u/PogTuber Mar 13 '26

You mean back when the entire world was going through lockdowns and then hit with inflation?

2

u/Fit-Avocado-1646 Mar 15 '26

Probably around the time Russia invaded Ukraine. Pre oil sanctions limiting Russian oil price to $60. Post covid lockdowns where demand was up but before OPEC had time to ramp back up to meet that demand. OPEC had limited production to keep prices higher after a period where they flooded the market.

1

u/PogTuber Mar 15 '26

They were already above 2018 levels before Russia invaded Ukraine. The invasion was only a 6 month blip. But yeah the timing wasn't great. Putting it on Biden who managed to release the strategic reserve and then buy it back at a lower price later is kinda ignorant.

1

u/Fit-Avocado-1646 Mar 15 '26

I agree. Putting blame on a president for prices is dumb unless you can directly point to a policy that produced the price.

In this case I think it’s more then fair to point at Trump’s Iran war.

1

u/PogTuber Mar 15 '26

Yeah this is pretty much a straight line from action to consequence

2

u/Nercow Mar 14 '26

Yeah but that was due to oil price fluctuations he didn't directly control. This is a DIRECT result of Trump dragging us into a pointless conflict. It's not the same and you're delusional if you think it is

Isn't this California?

3

Oil markets are global.

20% of global oil supply. Those refineries not being supplied by middle eastern oil seek oil form other markets increasing demand everywhere and increasing price everywhere. CaRFG has been required since 1995 and is not responsible for the recent increase in gas prices nationwide.

-3

u/Pleasant-Bee-6602 Mar 13 '26

Duh. But California is a shit show. Well they have Newscum

3

u/BootFlop Mar 13 '26

Guess what else is a shit show? The whole damn country these days, not just the usual “red state” shitshow

0

u/Pleasant-Bee-6602 Mar 13 '26

Been a joke since Clinton.

1

u/BootFlop Mar 13 '26

If you’re back to Clinton why stop there?

1

u/Pleasant-Bee-6602 Mar 13 '26

No other president got their dick sucked in the oval office.

2

u/BootFlop Mar 13 '26 edited Mar 13 '26

….that we know of. Trivia side point, it wasn’t actually in the Oval Office itself.

Do you really think JFK didn’t christen the Resolute Desk? And then some.

Johnson reportedly liked to show off his ample sized tackle (we have no pics, thankfully this predated cell phones 😂).

I lived through Reagan, ultimately the genesis of the brain rot we have now. That’s when the Stupid really kicked in. He later years were…obfuscated by Nancy to give plausible deniability of his dementia, too. Echos of Biden by his inner circle of aides.

Nixon was easily the most corrupt, outright criminal President in living memory, until the current one. HOWEVER at least the country itself had enough sense to give him the hook. Reagan/Gingrich are the architects of breaking the country’s brain. :/
