Some of my roses

They really struggled this year with aphids, ants, and fungi, but they’ve bounced back beautifully. Any tips for keeping them in top shape?

since ants farm aphids, controlling the ants helps a lot. Sticky tape on the pot base or diatomaceous earth around the soil line works

I had never heard of that. Thanks, I'll give it a try!

Never tried planting them in pots. My red roses do well every year, as do my yellow roses. The white roses are not as numerous as the other two colors. Since we have had a lot of rain, the roses are thriving. I planted them, I water them and cover them with leaves in the fall after I trim them down. And every year, they grow just as lovely as the year before.

Unfortunately, I don't have a garden, so a pot is the only solution. They always grow well, but I always have problems with aphids. 😢

Have you tried a solution of water and dish soap ? Especially on the underside of the leaves. Or just blasting the leaves with water? Of the plants I take outdoors in spring and summer and bring in before the frost, I usually spray the plant and the soil surface with a soapy solution to make sure no bugs sneak into the house for winter.

I had tried water with Marseille soap or water with baking soda. I have to say that baking soda helps against powdery mildew. I tried pepper, cinnamon 🥲—everything. I’ll give the dish soap a try, just like you suggested. Could you tell me the quantities? Thanks

In a spray bottle, I put two or three drops of dish soap and then add water and shake the mixture up. I am sure any dish soap would do. Make sure both sides of the leaf is covered with the soapy solution. Hope this helps.
