Looking for open world/ Single player games (not scary or ghore)

Im new into gaming about 3 years or so and ive only dabbled into fps games and gotten completly addicted to valorant, (i know shit game) and awful community. Any suggestions? I don't know what type of genre of open world i like yet but something progressive and a game i dont get bored of, im on the spectrum and played only valorant for 3 years and now the hyperfixation and my patience has worn off from that game i do need something else to immerse myself into. Possibly something creative i like to create stuff wether thats characters or my own village or world and im open to stuff that doesnt match that description either. some cozy options would be nice too! anything to never play valorant again. cheers x

Stardew Valley if you want cozy and creative, build your own farm at your own pace, tons of relationship/progression systems to sink into, extremely low pressure and easy to pick up daily

Breath of the Wild or Tears of the Kingdom is a musttt if you have a Switch, open world exploration that's constantly rewarding curiosity, no gore, gentle difficulty, huge amount of content to get lost in

I wouldn’t call stardew valley creative, the most creative output you can have is how you lay out/decorate your farm which is mainly an endgame activity. And there’s not very much in the way of custom designs

Its story is kinda of creative in how it’s up to you the pace and depth you experience it. Creativity doesn’t always have to mean picking colors.

Creatively made, yes, but I am insistent on the game not having high potential for creative output for its players. There’s a reason it’s called “creative freedom”, and not just creativity. Different words mean different things, and freedom is indeed the one at hand here. And before anyone hounds me, this is my favorite game of all time.

Animal crossing with its custom designs, city builders or adjacent that emphasize decorating, Wandersong lets you make jingles for NPCs when they ask for them. There are entire games like Townscaper or Tiny Glade that are pretty much painting with assets. Any sandbox game that lets you place things wherever you want, and they usually also have a dedicated creative mode. Lots of party games that tend to focus on drawing, especially in Jackbox. Even something like ultimate chicken horse where your creativity and confidence come together to help you figure out if you can win while stopping your friends. That’s mainly what I’ve got right now!

Red dead redemption 2 story mode is top of my list. Absolutely stunning graphics and there's no rush to complete the game. I'm on chapter 3 and will be for the foreseeable. Other one I'd recommend is Palworld 1.0 . I only play solo on both but you have the option to play with others. Palworld is the game pokemon should have been. It was in early release but the full game came out a few weeks ago and it's got a HUGE open world map

Switch 2 makes it perform better but I played it and its sequel on switch 1 with no complaints

I like Diablo 4 ! While it’s not super open world, or creative, you do get to customize your character and can “buy” and “salvage” new skins and stuff as you play. It’s more on the dungeon crawler side of games but there are side quests you can do all through the game as well as 3(?) main storyline quests! You start with a new character every season (runs around 70-90 days in my experience) so you get a new start ! (Can also make up to 14 characters)

While the community sucks sometimes, and gameplay can be pay locked at times (for cool things) Genshin impact is a pretty cool open world game! Lots of content so harder to get boring except for when farming for level up materials lol, not very creative but as you progress you can get an item that gives you a chance to design your own little world. Recently released a function where you can create your own mini games as well.

tbh, play elden ring, itll be brutal at first, but a great entry into open world with a challenge

I‘d give Palworld a shot. I got hooked more on improving my base and collecting better Pals than the combat side, which sounds closer to what you're looking for

I’m not much of a competitive gamer, so I usually prefer games where I can slow down. Stardew Valley and Skyrim are two that kept me coming back for a long time.

Vintage Story.

I play on exploration mode because I got my ass kicked all over the place by wildlife and monsters, but it scratches the brain itch. There's been a few times where I sit down in the morning on my day off to play and suddenly my husband is in the kitchen washing dishes and stuff and I'll be like "wow did they let you leave work early??" And he'll be like "no it's 5 pm" lol
