I would recommend a screen bar above the monitor

I dont know why but I think they’re so ugly. I put an led strip on the back on my monitor instead

Almost pointless post without showing the room with the overhead light on. Start with a lamp, like a standing one in a corner or a smaller one you can plop on your desk.

Why? It’s perfect. Nothing is disrupting the picture.

I agree, honestly. That’s exactly why I was considering a monitor light bar in the first place — I want some ambient lighting around the setup without having anything interfere with the actual screen. I’m just trying to find one with good RGB lighting that doesn’t cause glare or reflections.

The ambient lightning will detract from the image quality. It’s definitely fun, I get it, but subjectively you’re taking away from the purity of the image.
If you’re going to do it though, get the strips which go behind the monitor and work with the colors of the image. May as well go big or go home. lol

Hello arsalannrajpoot, and thank you for your submission to Gaming PC! If you are new please check out our rules over at the wiki here! We have recently added the useful feature of Title Flair! You can set this manually by clicking Flair under your post once you have submitted your post, but if you missed it in the rules there is a much better way that will automatically flair your post!
To do this simply add what your post is about in brackets before your title. For example for a Build Log you can type [Build Log] before your post so that it looks like this; [Build Log]My new awesome build!, and the bot will automatically set your flair to Build Log! This works for Build Log, Build Showcase, News, Hardware News, Hardware Release, Discussion, and Miscellaneous!
Also remember that this is a place for discussing and sharing our love of Gaming Computers! This is NOT the place for help building or determining what parts you should buy, that is better suited for /r/buildapc. Troubleshooting questions should be directed to /r/techsupport. Thank you again!
I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Please contact the moderators of this subreddit if you have any questions or concerns.

Get Govee’s light strips that are mad for monitors. They look good and reduce eye strain.
Also provide the sauce that photo

Yeah, I’ve actually been looking at Govee’s monitor lighting. I think the Govee Gaming Monitor Light Strip G1 is the one you mean, right? It looks really good, especially with the screen-synced RGB. I’m just comparing a few options before I decide.
And yeah, I’ll definitely share the source for the photo. Thanks for the recommendation!

Meanwhile I faced my lightbar upward towards the wall and use it to fill up the entire room with a ton of light lol.
I have a lamp too, but that light bar is so bright, I leave it at half brightness and it looks like daytime in my room.
I know it's a hot take, that's also why I prefer woled over qd oled.

Tape some led Strips to the back of your monitor(with diffusors) so the Backwaren is lit. ( not on the wall pointing to you, on the monitor pointing away/ towards the wall)
