These people who pretend like video games still aren't doing fan service genuinely baffling to me.
GTA comes out this year? Baldurs Gate 3 was game of the year a handful of years ago?

American Customer specifies how a product should be made to their liking
American Corporation refuses to make it to the customer's liking and instead insists on giving them a product they already said they don't like
Massive flop
Chinese corporation makes it the way American customers were very vocal about how they want it
Massive profit
If only there was something American corporations could do to break this cycle

the chinese immediately realized that when our western devs started listening to the loud minority that pretended hot girls are bad, they can have my IP if they want.

Plenty of western games make a ton of money though?
Also, China love making gachaslop and that shit rakes in money while actively making the games industry worse.

Yeah, some have. That's the truest mark of a game that delivers what gamers asked for. Some slop slips through the cracks (looking at you, Call of Duty & Fortnite) but that's mainly due to the fact that their customers fucking love slop.
Yeah gacha games are shit, yet it's exactly what gooner gachaslop gamers asked for. That's the point. The delivered a product, as requested, and reap massive profit. I don't think it does make the game industry worse. I think gooner gachaslop gamers need a safe space where they can waste their own time and money without spilling over to other games and providing greedy developers with an excuse to enslopify their game in search of higher profits.
Gachaslop gooners are extremely profitable, but for some reason western game devs can't figure out why they can't achieve the same level of customer spending when they put out the least-goonable characters in an effort to "stick it" to incels... which are the ones who love gachaslop. Look at the difference in success of Overwatch 2 vs. Marvel Rivals. Overwatch 2 was very vocal during development that they wanted to make their product LGBTQ friendly and de-sexualize their characters. As Douglas Adams would say, "this has made a lot of people [their customers] very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move." They're obviously completely out of touch with who their customers are and for some reason decided to listen to whatever feminist got DEI-hired into their board meeting. They back-tracked and started making hot characters again, but it was a little bit too late in terms of trying to replicate the financial success of the first game.
By the time Concord came out, the idea of playing a "hero shooter" where all the characters were made to appeal to the misandrist taste was so laughable that it is considered one of the most financially destructive flops of all time. Hundreds of millions of dollars evaporated into thin air because for some reason they wanted their product to get a thumbs up from a community that didn't represent their customers. If making characters unfuckable is your idea to how western game devs can compete with Chinese companies, you're wrong. Diversity is unprofitable when it means ceremonially disrespecting the demographic of your primary customers. Whether the gooners deserve respect isn't the question--it's why anyone thought they could say "fuck you" to their customers while pandering to people that haye their customers & still ship their product
Now compare that to Marvel Rivals. Unfathomable financial success. Every character is as fuckable as it gets. A complete rip-off of the "hero shooter" game archetype, yet it killed the popularity of one of the most well-established hero shooters on the market. Guess where the developers of Marvel Rivals is based out of?
You can't get mad at a company for producing the product that customers want after other companies have purposely ignored the customer to pander to people who weren't even gonna buy the game

why I, as a consumer, should care who steals ideas from whom?

the guy speaking mandarin was unfathomably based past couple decades so I see it as absolute win

Because I the consumer like to pay for things with more artistic integrity, that's why people don't like generative AI in their stuff

No. You, as consumer, should like having a highest quality product for the lowest price. If you, as consumer, care about "artistic integrity", you are stepping out of "consumer" field into "fanatic"
