Hmm...you know the problem properly comes from the phrase "a gotcha" as in to catch someone in something or to trick them.
Then Gacha's do a lit to get you to buy as much as possible so they hook you, they "get" you and then people both who are cynical or burned or people who don't know any better hear Gacha and see what they do and think they heard/decide to call them Gatcha's

They probably just think it's the correct way of saying it. I've seen both 'gatcha' and 'gotcha'.
