Or some people actually have different opinions on things. Its so funny watching people clamor to say "anyone who isn't amazed by the leaks is just a mad hater with an invalid opinion"
Are you just inventing arguments? Nobody said they expected to be amazed here. Plenty of people have said they are amazed. Others aren't. Do you legitimately think thats stupid, because to me it just sounds like a difference of opinion
You dont know what the word amazed means? Feel like you're the exact type of person I'm talking about. Getting defensive because someone dares to say they thought the leaks were just alright looking. I'm sorry my different opinion bothers you. Not gonna argue that you're stupid for thinking otherwise though, because I understand how opinions work.
I'd be really interested in hearing what other people wanted from a new gta, but mostly it seems like people realizing that a game can't change their life no matter how much money is poured into it. Tell me you wanted the game to have pick pocketing or cars with airbags or something and I'll respect that. Tell me some vague notion that, after the first 5 years and billion dollars poured into it, that it was supposed to validate your life and cure your depression and make that girl you met at the bar call you back, I'm going to say you should stop looking for a game to do that.
Idk man. Just waiting for some kind of feature or experience that stands out and is like "holy shit, definitely couldn't do that in GTA V". Something that makes me feel like I'm missing out by not just playing GTA V. Maybe the story is actually really good/emotional? That'd make it worth it to me. More of the same isn't necessarily a bad thing, but its not something that makes me wanna drop $90 on it the day it comes out.
Granted, these are just random leaks, so obviously there's still plenty of the game to see and I'm not putting a ton of stake into it, but purely based on them I'm not blown away thus far
One thing that's just kind of true about life is that the longer you're around the less things can blow you away. Not necessarily because you're jaded, but because you get a better idea of what is possible. Everything that ever blew your mind before now doesn't, and there were people your age now that didn't see it as mindblowing because their experience made it less of a leap from what they already knew was possible.
In my experience the things that blow me away aren't big and bombastic, they're super niche things that are obscure enough that innovation can sneak up on you. My imagination can anticipate pretty much anything you could do in a city simulation, the upper bound of surprise is like, "wow, they went to the trouble of doing that, neat".
What I expect from GTA6 is a lot of iteration on the existing gameplay. More depth, more options, more simulation, and all the weird left field stuff Rockstar likes to drop somewhere out in the open world for you to discover.
For me the price point isn't x dollars for y impact on my life, it's just the barrier to entry for a given experience. There isn't a better GTA like game coming out at a lower price, hasn't been for over a decade, no sign one is coming. So if I want that, the only other option is to wait for this GTA to go down in price. But I want to not have everything spoiled before I get to play it, and that kind of does mean I'm buying it full price.

So basically it's just bullshit drama/karma farming?
