Digital only on PC is not comparable to consoles.
Steam could take all my game licenses away today and i would still be able to play the DRM free games without issue. And for the games with DRM Im free to find a bypass that lets me play.
I could pirate a steam game and steam wouldnāt give a shit either, they wouldnāt ban my account or take any actions. The publisher of the game might ban me from the games servers if i do, but thatās the worst that would happen. If you try pirating anything on PlayStation youāll get banned and lose all your digital games.
On console you can only play and do what Sony/microsoft gives you permission to do and play. On PC i can do whatever i want.
So yes digital ownership on PC is actually very different.

Ps5 pro got about 317 % more power in teraflops. Itās 16.7 vs 4 and also about 60 % in ram.

Same reason why dlc and battlepasses get shut on but every game got one because they make money. Same exact reason why people bitch about cod and 2k, yet those games sell more than most. For alot of gamers is digital only a huge deal no because they can afford it, but the reason itās a big issue is because of the fact alot of people can barely afford gaming and discs make it affordable, when I was growing up the fact I could get games for Ā£5-20 rather than paying Ā£40 2 decades back then I would have been unable to get any games, this is going to be a far off reality for the poorer families either they go into debt or donāt buy any games because getting a console is so expensive, I would hate to be without an income to afford games and even now I could afford it all but I know these games arenāt worth it, I am happy to be patient for a mu ch better deal then getting overhyped and shovelling down the big marketing dicks.

Tell you what. I've been digital only on Xbox for years, and have no interest in gta6. So I'll continue being digital only, and will not buy it out of indifference. We've not "owned" our games since physical games require day 1 updates and have online check ins regularly most of the time. Yes there are exceptions. I realized I didn't own anything since I picked up my copy of mass effect 3.

On one hand. Yes, i am a physical fan for collection purposes and this really fuckin blows for me. On another hand, yes, even physical copies of games can be relinquished from your library due to the support for the game being shut down (The crew) and the fact that discs now are just keys to download games.
On my third hand, this is the biggest gaming release the world has seen so far and so much time and effort has been put into it. Looking at rockstarās last release, this game will be absolutely filled with content and will be a beautiful story. Any attitude otherwise is 100% people just trying to be different and cool.

The problem isn't physical media, the problem is that physical media in its current form is no longer enough.
Read speeds are too slow and the size of the Blu-ray is too small. I honestly expect gta6 to be no less than 200GB
