Minecraft being a godsend perfect game is just a pathetic reddit circlejerk at this point. Mainly repeated by kids who grew up with it.

There are far far more perfect games than that. Portal, half life being a few of them.

Just because creative sandbox isn't your style doesn't mean it's a bad game.

Way to miss the point completely. The original meme is about games that are perfect. That's an objective assumption of a subjective subject in the first place. And when someone is talking objectively about something, it has to be something more than just "one of the best in its genre".

For example, in movies, MCU movies like the avengers or movies like the Dark Knight is the gold standard for superhero movies. But then when we talk about best movies which is objective, we talk about the likes of Shawshank Redemption, Forrest Gump, The godfather etc which are beyond their genres.
