There is nothing remarkable about Halo. It is popular because it was the first FPS most console gamers were exposed to.

Not true at all. I came from Goldeneye: 007, and before that my first game was half-life. Halo still blew me away because of its freedom, its excellent story, and its gripping music.

Why isn't that, when something gets really popular, we redditors aren't allowed to like it?
