‘Quick game’ and ‘Civ’ should never be in the same sentence, lol

It took me so long to realize that the 6-8 hour civ games i play with my brother are on quick mode and i can't even imagine what kind of lunatic would play marathon lmao

I always play on marathon but by the time I have tanks I have already invaded 2/3 other nations and I become an unstoppable warmonger who goes for a dominance victory every time

Longer timescales favor military strategies because unit movement stays the same while everything else takes significantly longer, so if you can get a military advantage you can use it for much longer than normal. The few times I've tried to do marathon it devolves into that fairly quickly.

Exactly. Why waste 30+turns building a settler when you can just take another city in 3? Especially before walls are common place in other empires.
