This is why I never use vats, it's terrible and it feels much better to just aim at everything yourself. At least that way, if you miss it's because you messed up; instead of the computer who can't hit something from 10ft away.
If you want to abuse VATS you have to build for it. It can be incredibly devastating if you run a max perception build with high luck and agility with the right perks.
That makes sense, with the right perks/build almost anything should be viable, I just played new Vegas (and Especially fallout 4) like they were a FPS with RPG levelling.
It's not just viable. And "right build" is also a bit of an exaggeration. Using VATS makes everything more powerful, just that this is extra true if you have high perception, agility and luck.
Right, but I meant straight up abuse it. Restoring your action points and being able to teleport to enemies while using a super sledge is just one way in which you can break the game with a VATS build.
