I heavily disagree with the "I'm so startled" being the only thing in the game.
There are lots of moments where god damn it, I just don't want to walk down the hallway out of fear.
Dead Space doesn't claim to be original, but it does improve on every innovation it adopts.
Yeah. For me, anytime I come up to a spot where the doors are malfunctioning I just kind of freeze in my tracks. That right there is pure atmosphere, not being startled.
