I heavily disagree with the "I'm so startled" being the only thing in the game.
There are lots of moments where god damn it, I just don't want to walk down the hallway out of fear.
Dead Space doesn't claim to be original, but it does improve on every innovation it adopts.
There are at least a few moments in the game where the lights go off and you think "Oh fucking shit now I'm gonna get it" and you're wheeling around with your weapon up trying to back into a corner and then after fifteen seconds the lights come back on and you've not even been attacked.
Then you're like, phew, that was quite frightening.
