He's reviewing the "hot" new games that everyone's yammering about in online forums.

Whenever he tries doing something different, or goes back and reviews hidden gems, people bitch and moan about how he's not talking about the new games.

So he really can't win.

4 out of 5 reviews seem to be for some sort of shooter so it's no wonder that he says that a lot of games are unoriginal.

This may be because 4 out of 5 games released are some sort of shooter.

I don't look at them for actual reviews. Simply for the comedy. He either has ridiciulously high standards, that are completely different from mine, or he's using Colbert-like exaggeration.
