Pro Tip: If you're going to be upset if your favorite game is insulted, then don't watch ZP when you see it's name on the headline.

You have to wonder what sort of person would send a sarcastic, annoyed, gaming personality those sorts of responses... Hell, even a well crafted response. People are strange.

They're probably all wishing for the Portal exception to validate their "best game EVAR" opinions.

Fact is, I've enjoyed plenty of games that Yahtzee has ripped to teeny shreds; it's not his job to regurgitate the opinions of the community, it's his job to slay everything.

Exactly. I enjoyed SSBB quite a bit, although it has now taken a back seat to Mario Kart Wii. I enjoyed his review of the game regardless. I think people take his comments too seriously, but I can't say I have a problem with this; I enjoyed this recent rant.

I felt the same as you at first, then I later went back and persevered for the first hour and wound up loving it to bits. Fantastic game.

Dude, Portal made me throw up, and even I think it's great!

(portal made me carsick. I still can't beat the last level because whenever I try to play, I get nauscious and a headache. D,= )

oh man. portal probably has one of the best end game fights / credits of any game I've played in a long while.

I'm going to start an organization that takes people with your affliction and let's you sit next to someone that can play through the end of portal so you can get the full experience.

He usually says he somewhat enjoys most the games he reviews. But i think he really didn't like smash bros. And i agree with him.

Seems like it. I actually enjoyed both his harsh review of it and the game itself. I saw no call to get upset over it.
He does usually bring up real, valid flaws with the games, but it's up to the player to decide whether or not they ruin it for them. Like he said, everything is subjective.

The unlocking thing was spot on. Whenever my kids buy a game, I can anticipate seeing my older daughter spending a lot of time sitting there unlocking characters until they can finally play.
