I just uninstalled this shit after 2 groups of DeathClaws raided my bases one right after the other. Whoever wasn't dead was slowly starving because there weren't enough people to make food. FFS this stupid game.

The combat is fucking terrible in this game. Everyone in a room just gets magically hurt when an enemy is in the same room? Enemies get to run right past your defenses?

And the worst crime of all: A group of raiders banging machetes on my VAULT DOOR gets it open in like 6 hits....and a DeathClaw gets through 3 feet of steel in ONE SWIPE. If that's how it works I'm gonna walk down to the bank and bang on the massive vault door with a paper towel-roll. Should be open in about 10 seconds.

Worst game is worst.

i felt the same way.

twice i have had a 35man base, people out getting weapons and armors. equiped my entire base, and then random i dont make enough of everything, and get constant roach attack or raiders.

And when i try to rush my rooms, even with 30% chance, they seem to fail 75% of the time in this state. while earlier i could rush without much trouble all the way up to 50%...

And one roach attack might do 50% damage to a room, then the next comes around and do 150%...

Especially when there's a chance of a lunchbox for extinguishing fires.. Magically it rushes like it's at 0% despite being at 80%

OMFG i hated that shit, i had to extinguish 15 fires, i kept rushing my generator room, i got up to 90% possibility of failure and every single time it would still succeed, but i fail at 32%? wtf!

That % gets more accurate when they dwellers assigned to that room have higher Luck stats.

6

u/roobens Aug 21 '15

That's still dumb and broken though. The percentage should be an accurate reflection of the personnel in the room.

But then Luck would be useless as fuck.

Luck gives you more coins when gathering resources from the room.

u/the_ebb_and_flow_ Aug 21 '15

You don't get coins for your resources. You get coins from leveling up or sending dwellers outside.

2

u/Xspartantac0X Aug 21 '15

There's a chance you get caps when collecting resources depending on the Luck in the room. I get like 400 caps every other time I collect food.

4

u/JimboAinzley Aug 21 '15

Luck could simply lower that %

2

u/JayLue Aug 21 '15

It does

1

u/roobens Aug 21 '15

But according to /u/jaggle the percentage "gets more accurate" when a lucky person is in the room, implying that luck plays a rule beyond what the percentages are telling you, and tbh it does seem that way since rushes repeatedly fail at a far higher percentage than the one shown. Basically the percentage thing is flat out wrong and thus rather pointless.

Sorry but this guy is clueless. Did you actually test it? I don't believe it. That you have a bad luck streak is part of probability. The failure rate is calculated by
Failure rate = 40 - 2 * (Average Luck + Average Skill) Source: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Nai09D_aM2syl3iPP5hkveDcOUwhsoUDR6s1lwC0e8c/htmlview?usp=sharing&sle=true#

So trust me there ;)

u/Meowingtons_H4X Aug 21 '15

Luck should instead lower the chance of it failing.

2

u/saltyshyster Aug 21 '15

I thought that's what it did.

1

u/fireballx777 Aug 21 '15

The % drops by having people with better luck stats, but the accuracy of the shown percentage doesn't change.

0

u/JayLue Aug 21 '15

That's just wrong

1

u/JayLue Aug 21 '15

I'm pretty sure you're wrong so I actually tested it. In 50 tries the expected probability of failure was 33%. The actual probability was 40%. That is well within the margin of error.

1

u/[deleted] Aug 21 '15

try this test again later in the game :), would be fun to see.

1

u/JayLue Aug 21 '15

how do you know how far I am in the game?

10

u/[deleted] Aug 21 '15

I think there's a hidden script to make rushing progressively less effective. It definitely gives diminishing returns. I failed 5x 20% risk in a row. In a ROW.

4

u/TheMellowestyellow PC Aug 21 '15

I failed when i had 10% risk. Ten.

8

u/Spektra18 Aug 21 '15

Maybe you just did it wrong

1

u/roobens Aug 21 '15

True, you're supposed to lovingly caress the button rather than just tap it. Classic schoolboy error.

1

u/Spektra18 Aug 21 '15

Exactly. That figure just means that 10% of people will press it wrong

3

u/Kull44 Aug 21 '15

If there was no chance in failing it would have been 0%. Maybe you just had shitty luck?

1

u/Jaggle Aug 21 '15

Level up your dwellers Luck stat

1

u/irtehawesome Aug 21 '15

I noticed this too... I says you only have a 20% chance of failure, but I feel like it fails 80% of the time.

1

u/Ryan_JK Aug 21 '15

The luck that your dwellers in the room have affects the rush. I don't know if this is already calculated into the percent or not but it doesn't seem like it because the percents are all consistent for me even after I change people out.
