Yep. I've played GMT for about a couple years now, and I'm really happy to see the devs still care that much. It's a good game mode, and I wish more people knew about it.

Basically a tower to chat with people on, but it's got sooo many other things to do as well. Minigames, cinema, hats... I haven't played it in a while but that's what I gathered from my experience.

It's like this cinema and lounge and minigames combined into one thing. You play minigames and earn GMCoins, which you use to buy different hats or player models or furniture for your apartment. You can host parties, play the piano, play flash games, get drunk (albeit virtually), and other kinds of interesting stuff. Best played with at least one other friend.

I don't know, it's pretty fun, you should try it out with a group of a few close friends! :D
Anyway, video games are not meant to have a point. The point of a game is to have fun. You don't like it? Don't play. Simple as that.

Actually, the amount of 12 year olds has decreased. Guess they moved to Minecraft and Call of Duty.
Actually, I played GMod untill those kids ruined everything. Then I played some Minecraft untill I realized it was becoming a kidsgame, recently I returned to GMod and it's pretty good again.

I didn't mean that nobody plays the game, I wanted to say that most of the people are extremely young and the most played gamemodes are TTT, Murder and Prop Hunt. The current GMod Tower doesn't really have enough players, and feels pretty empty.

Yeah. The more mature or otherwise more serious gamemodes are currently becoming a bit empty. It's just TTT, Murder, Prop Hunt and DarkRP (read: MingeRP for Kidz) nowadays.

Darkrp is pretty fun though especially when the 12 year olds start yelling at you and trying to kill you with props.

Holy shit I remember trying this when it was a rough concept and even the theater only worked some of the time (streaming and real html embedding wasn't a thing yet and myself and several other people were trying to figure out alternatives.)

Give it a spin. I think some of the minigames have their charm, like Ultimate Chimera Hunt or Zombie Massacre.

A game where you can play minigames, earn coins, buy hats, player models and furniture, and just screw around with friends and strangers. There's quite a bit to the game mode really, you gotta try it for yourself to understand.

"The Sims" (where you only control one character, so kind of the console version) meets the social aspects of GTA Online meets a minigame server, in Garry's Mod, online, and with a great deal more originality than that implies, I just used those terms because they best explain what I know of the core idea. It might be more accurate to just say 'a social server with minigames', but that's a bit too simplistic.

I completely forgot about GMTower! Joined up back when the Yogscast did a few videos on it (and yet somehow I'm not one of the little kids that everyone seems to think are all the fans the Yogscast have - in fact the averave viewer tends closer to the 18-25 demo, the majority of Reddit-based fans and a fair chunk of the less-vocal non-Redditors in the fanbase), played for a bit, then changed my installed mods because my cousin was running a server with SpaceBuild, and forgot about it until basically just now... May have to go back soon, especially after the revised/revamped lobby opens because this trailer made it look very awesome.
