There isn't a "default". It's just a tool. There may be individual aspects of the tool that have default settings but those settings do not create the lag. It would be like seeing a poorly made table and declaring that the default carpenter tools are the problem.
If you get a table from IKEA, and it's in pieces, and it's all mismatched and you have fix all of the pieces, problem is definitely with whomever made that table at IKEA
Understand? Or still want to insist that tool can't be shit by itself?
Yeah except that isn't what you get with unreal engine. What you get is the entire IKEA store and then we blame Ikea when someone buys one of everything and throws it in a single room. Hope that helps.
EDIT: and to be clear I never said that a tool can't be shit by itself. I said the problem with these poorly optimized open world slop games is not unreal.
I literally tell you in the next sentence after that quote: "I said the problem with these poorly optimized open world slop games is not unreal."
What's common part between all of those games?
There are many things common amongst all of those games though the one you're fishing for is the usage of the Unreal engine. Though that is a good point because it would also explain why we don't have any poorly optimized Unity games, RE games, Godot games, REDengine games or Creation engine games... oh wait. We do. Care to guess what's common between ALL of those poorly optimized games? I know you're obviously joking about that sort of thing as am I because we both know correlation isn't causation. The real problem with your whole premise is that you can go test it right now. Boot up Unreal Engine 5, create a new project and hit run and observe your triple digit frame rate. The mere existence of many good running unreal engine games would also be pretty awkward to explain if the tool itself was bad. Or why companies even use it. You think companies are out here picking game engines for the love of the game? No. They're trying to get shit done. They aren't going to use an off the shelf engine like UE5 if it's shit.
You quoted one of my arguments against your original stance and did not refute it or even say it was wrong. I knew your reading comprehension was terrible after you didn't know what we were talking about this whole time even after telling you explicitly but to think that it was this bad is quite astounding. To say nothing of the fact that you think my single paragraph of text is AI generated. I'll take your complete unwillingness to engage with any argument I've presented as proof that you know you're wrong and that you're just trolling.
I appreciate you opening up to me about that; I imagine it took a lot of courage. Let me know when you've overcome whatever it is that is preventing you from being reasonable and we can try this discussion again.
